First post - One month to go
In 30 days I will be running the NYC Marathon.
I have never considered myself a long-distance runner. Or any distance runner. 8 months ago I was 20-30lbs heavier and I was smoking 1.5-2 packs of Malboros every day. On my birthday last february I decided to change for better - I quit smoking and started running.
Why I decided to do the marathon?
I love adventures and challenges. Running 26.1 miles in the same year I quit smoking I find both adventurous and challenging.
I was looking for a real challenge that involves thorough preparation and training. To successfully run a marathon you have to train hard for few months.
In the next few weeks I'm going to write about different aspects of my training for a marathon.
