Cochren & Co.’s New Album ‘RUNNING HOME’ Available Now
Gotee Records’ Cochren & Co. has released their sophomore album, Running Home. This album follows the acclaimed debut project, Don’t Lose Hope (2021), that produced the hit songs “Church (Take Me Back)” and “One Day.” Helmed by singer/songwriter and worship leader Michael Cochren and joined by his wife Leah, Cochren & Co. is back with a strong 10-song project that features hope-filled lyrics and timeless melodies. Click here to listen to Running Home. “The debut album was a process of exploring all of my musical influences and life experiences and finding out how that melting pot could create a sound unique,” shares Michael Cochren of Cochren & Co. “It was kind of like figuring out how to build a ship, and how to push it off the shore and over the waves. Now with this sophomore album, I feel like we were on the open sea with a clear heading. I knew where I wanted to take this album. I really wanted the songwriting on this album to be personal, to openly share stories and struggles in a way that people can feel a connection to, and ultimately feel like there’s peace available in the highs and lows.” RUNNING HOME - Cochren & Co. https://open.spotify.com/album/0x7Hr6i67SAQ4Kd4rclmPB?si=fF_JF2NaSVGiDBYkNbbQJw Cochren & Co.’s sophomore project features the 2022 Top 15 Billboard Christian Airplay & AC radio single, “Thank God For Sunday Morning,” which has amassed over 10 million streams in less than a year and was listed as one of K-LOVE’s 22 Songs that Defined 2022. The title track and debut radio single from the project is already being played on 40 stations including national networks SiriusXM’s The Message and starting today on K-LOVE. The song is also the No. 1 song on AmazonMusic’s DivineSound which includes Cochren as the featured artist. Other songs on the album “Be There For You” are included on Spotify’s Top Christian & Gospel playlist, where Cochren is this week’s featured artist, and “The Final Say (feat. Josh Baldwin)” on AppleMusic’s New in Christian playlist. Cochren & Co. is back again this year on the TobyMac Hits Deep Tour that features CROWDER, Tasha Layton, Jon Reddick and Terrian. Cochren & Co Shares “Running Home” Ahead Of Sophomore Album
Gotee Records’ Cochren & Co. released their debut album, Don’t Lose Hope, two years ago to much acclaim and radio airplay. Helmed by singer/songwriter and worship leader Michael Cochren joined by his wife Leah, Cochren & Co. is back with a strong sophomore offering, Running Home, which will release on February 3rd. The 10-song project features hope-filled lyrics and timeless melodies as Cochren & Co. blurs the line between American pop/rock and soul/blues to create a classic sound all their own. Today fans can hear the title track “Running Home” as well as pre-order the new album here and watch the lyric video below. “This album is all about running into the arms of God,” shares Michael Cochren, frontman for Cochren & Co. “It’s my story, but I also believe it’s the story of anyone who has found themselves far from home spiritually. We’ve all heard the saying there’s no place like home. When I think of what ‘home’ means, I think of comfort, rest, safety, and love. When we go off looking for these things in the broken world, we will never find them. Ultimately, we only find what we need when we return to our loving God.”
The album’s energetic title track is also currently being played on Sirius XM and is the only song from a Christian & Gospel artist this week to be featured in the global New Music Friday playlist from Spotify, a playlist featuring songs from all genres with more than four million listeners. “Running Home” was co-written by Matthew West and Jeff Pardo, as well as also produced by Pardo (2022 Dove Awards Producer of the Year). Additional producers for the project include Chris Stevens (Gloria Gaynor), Kyle Williams (We Are Messengers) and David Leonard (All Sons & Daughters). He continues, “The title track is an anthem declaring, I’m done running away, I’m running home! And for my story, in my wandering years when it became more and more clear that the things I was using to fill my emptiness were really making me more empty, like the prodigal son, I began feeling a draw on my heart to return to my spiritual home. Yet I had this fear in my mind that God was just waiting for me in anger, to punish me. But that’s not how the parable ends… the father runs to greet the son, throws a robe around his back, a ring on his finger, a kiss on his cheek, and then they throw a party for him! I received this welcome from God, and that’s the welcome that’s waiting for anyone who says: I’m done running away, I’m running home!” https://youtu.be/NK1AkCEHkZQ Cochren & Co.’s sophomore project features the 2022 Top 15 Billboard Christian Airplay & AC radio single, “Thank God For Sunday Morning,” which has amassed over 10 million streams in less than a year. This song was highlighted on K-LOVE’s end-of-the-year charts including “22 Songs that Defined 2022” and “Top 30 Songs of 2022.” The album includes already released songs “The Lows” and “Good Memories,” which have each received multiple playlisting features. Running Home also features guest vocalist Josh Baldwin on the song “The Final Say.” Cochren & Co. will be back again this year on the upcoming 2023 TobyMac Hits Deep Tour that will also feature CROWDER, Tasha Layton, Jon Reddick and Terrian. google maps told me 11,3 kilometers. then i spontaneously thought: »well, what difference would it make if i ran through the trailways of this wood …« and bämm (as we say in german)—2 kilometers more. but it was an actually really good and enjoyable run considerung the fact that the last one was quite rubbish. — #13k #running #runnergirl #runninghome #runhappy #halfmarathontraining #run #stuttgart #kessel #kesselliebe #landscapephotography #landscape #urban #urbanphotography (at Stuttgart, Germany) https://www.instagram.com/p/BwKYlCYnGUm/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=7bjv0klw1dho
Excerpt
The trees rushed by in a green blur as my unfocused eyes stared out of the window of the bus. The conversations of my peers were a soft murmur behind me. I bucked up and down in my seat as the tires hit the uneven pavement, my forehead brushing the cold window. My hands tightened inside of each other, wringing the skin in an anxious movement.
I thought of the last time I was on a bus with my mother. We were going to the store like we did every week. My heart beat quicker as I tried to picture her face, my mind arranging her features by memory. What if I forgot what she looked like? What if I never see her again?
A tear rolled slowly down my cheek, catching in the corner of my mouth. I ached so badly to see her again, to be in her embrace and feel safe like before. I closed my eyes, making a vow to myself that I will see her again, no matter what.
Frances Kipp is a 13 year old girl whose life was ripped away from her when her schizophrenic mother was taken to a psychiatric ward. Shuffling around from group homes and foster parents, she decides to run away and reunite herself with her mother. She encounters many struggles on the run, while discovering secrets and what it’s like to grow up in the real world.

Come friend
hello again. Do you know what its like to walk with the Maker of the World? Well let me tell you, He never stops, well.. making. Making things over, making things new. And now I return to tell you about it, and I realize He’s made me new. He’s made me all over again. And slipping back into this blog is like trying to slide into old clothes that could never possibly fit you again. But shoot, let’s give it a try. The thing is, my mind is full, packed to the brim, with things I want to tell you. Things I’ve seen, things He’s shared, things too beautiful to stay locked away.
And I’m no longer afraid.
Its impossibly difficult to express to you the joy that comes with those words. Do you know what its like to feel afraid? Afraid of judgement, afraid of being wrong, afraid of being alone, afraid of being crazy? Hands should be shooting up everywhere because now I know it isn't just me.
Legalism has had its strong “holy” hands wrapped around my neck, shutting off any fresh air from expanding my lungs, for far far too long. And like Steven being stoned by the “holy” ones, I looked up into the Heavens with the last remaining strength in me, and I saw Him. And I realized what wasn’t Him; these hands around my neck were far from being His. And in my crazed desperation for Him I threw off that grip and ran Home.
I’m no longer under the thumb of legalism. They can no longer tell me what I can and can’t say to you. That’s for Him alone to say. And on my journey Home I looked back to see so many throwing off their own nooses and running with me. Was that you? I’m so happy you’re here.
Or are you still being choked of the very life they said they’d give you? Come on out, friend. They lied to you. There’s life out here. REAL life. And its the life Jesus came to be able to walk with you. I promise, He wants to walk with you. He’s so beautiful! And the world out here shimmers with His joy. Can you see it? I so want you to see it. If you can’t yet, I hope that’s the journey we can take together. I hope to be able to paint you the pictures I see until you can see them for yourselves and more. Until you can see Him. He’s here. He met us in our world and now He’s calling us Home. Let us throw off the weight of sin and the nooses of legalism so we can run. Let us run as little children into the arms of our Father who is so glad to have us Home. Finally home.
come, friend, let’s go.
