Updates, updates, updates.
So, my outdoor track season officially started this past Wedenesday! And I have a lot to catch you all up on.
I've had some great runs this week, but I'm not gonna waste time posting them all because I'm too lazy and I have to plan our invitational! My high school hasn't held our Cougar Invite in about 5 years, and we're bringing it back! I'm so excited and this whole thing was a complete suprise. We were planning on getting it ready for next year, but our asst. principal thought we might as well try it out this year and see where it goes, which is great and all but we have only about a month to plan it! Yikes.
So as exciting as that is, I have a lot on plan between mangaing my whole non-running life in general! These season, just like any other spring track season, has brought out a lot of new faces. SOME have some good potential, but I hate to be a pessimist (and I'm sure you other trackies can relate) most of them are so annoying and won't end up getting credit because all they do is walk around the track, finsing that sufficient enough to call 'practice.' Whatever! At least they're lowering the prices of our t-shirt this season ;D.
Question though for all you runners: I was on a run with my two friends yesterday, and I wasn't feeling so great on my run the day before that so once I realized that I was feeling fine on my next run I sped it up where I normally would speed it up for a run. One of my friends really had trouble keeping up the last 1/2 mile so I said that I would slow up a bit, but it still wasn't slow enough. So the last 1/2 mile I kinda went in front a lot and my friend who was having trouble stayed back with my other friend. She was very mad at me after the fact, and said that wasn't the right thing to do. I said that since I hadn't been feeling well I was just excited to have a good run, and since I felt the need to speed up, I did. I was only going at my own pace, I wasn't full out sprinting or anything. And it wasn't like I left her alone, she still ran with my other teammate who was with us. Also, I am KNOWN on my team to speed it up during the last mile or so, my teammates always joke around that I should come with a warning label, and this wasn't the first time I've ran with this girl. Is it wrong to speed up during a run and kinda go ahead of the pack???
