And the results are in for the virtual #runtheboom 5K with @twincitiesinmotion. While I just missed being in the top 20 overall, I finished 2nd or 3rd in my age group. Next up is the #tc1mile is August. Can I break 6:30 this year? #cancersurvivor #cardiacarrestsurvivor #challengeyourself https://www.instagram.com/p/CC6hUJ0noU3/?igshid=h3kfimbqtddv
This photo was taken before the Red, White, & Boom 5k and 6.75 mile run in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on the Fourth of July. This was my third race of the year. The half marathon was canceled, so I ran the 6.75 mile run. #latergram #runtheboom #5k #6point75 #running #UltraSummitChallenge (at Minneapolis, Minnesota)
Week 11 was a hot one. In fact, I wasn't able to finish my 13.1 mile run on Saturday because of the heat. I was okay with it, thinking that it would give me extra time to taper for the Red, White, & Boom Half Marathon on the Fourth of July. However, that run has also been canceled because of the expected heat. They are letting runners sign up for a run at a shorter distance on the Fourth of July. Either way, I am going to try to get my 13.1 miles in on Wednesday, even if I have to run in the morning AND at night. From the "Too Much Information" department, I found that you don't need a toenail on your big toe to run. So there's that. I guess I am officially a runner now!
