Well...
the stakes of puragatory are nothing else but fantasy creatures, whose look was based on the maids who previously worked on Rokkenjima.
Fundamentally they’re Sayo’s fantasy.
As on the gameboard and in the Meta they can take life as their own person, we can say that the stakes are beings that are different beings from the maids they were based on.
