According to Stabroek News, Guyana Defence Force lance corporal Rupert Perry ran 9.90 seconds on grass in the 2012 Inter Services Annual Athletic Championships.
There’s no official ratification as yet, or video footage. If it’s true he’d rank as the eighth fastest 100m man of 2012. He'd also be shaving almost a second off his official PB, a 10.78 from 2011 in Barquisimeto, Venezuela.
Meanwhile, in Japan, and on video, 16-year-old sprinter Yoshihide Kiryu ran 10.19 at the Ecopa Track Games in Fukuroi, an unofficial world youth best. You can watch it here.
