With age came talents and this was tenfold for vampires. There were the innate ones of their species but as the years rolled by it wasn’t rare for them to grow even more powerful and garner new abilities. At some point in time Ruse had been blessed with a sense of smell and hearing that rivaled practically any other being on the planet. Including werewolves. It wasn’t exactly something he took advantage of all too often. Didn’t need it in his corner of the world with his cats but then he’d heard them. In a way he had never wanted to.
What had it been now? Ruse was never good at keeping track of time but he knows it can’t have been that long since he saw the siblings. Since he helped them when they still had been as good as teething. It didn’t seem like nearly enough time for the screams ringing in his ears to come from their hands but there was no denying it. Miyami and Minhyo’s presence clung to the air along with a stench of blood that would normally cause hunger to burst in the elder’s stomach but now he just felt disgusted.
It’s almost too quick for him that he’s there not fully processing what he’s about to confront. Ruse can only see their backs from this angle as he walks up to them and they almost seem no different than the day he’d first met them. Except there’s blood coating the walls and a body at their feet. Twisted and abused. This isn’t something as simple as a vampires hunger. It’s been too long since he’s seen plain cruelty in front of him like this and from two people who hold such a special place in his heart.
“What in all hell have you done?”
