Smiles are easy and her generosity is boundless, but make no mistake that she is still a witch through and through. She’ll charm you with her laughter, seduce you with a wry twist of her lips, and love you with every fiber of her being. She’ll mark you, carving her name into your marrow, and she’ll treat you in kind, taking you into her bloodstream. She’ll wrap you up and hold you close, hearts pressed together and beating in time. She loves to love, but her love is all-encompassing, all-consuming. Either you have it or you don’t. There is no middle ground.

If her love is consuming, her hatred is destructive. Every slight is another brick that she’ll tear down with her bare hands, destroying every last part of you until there’s nothing left but the swirls of dust from your foundation. Rage blackens her thoughts, twisting the bright into deep, dancing shadows. In her soul, she breathes fire, unwilling to stop until the love she once had turns to ashes upon her tongue. To conjure brimstone is easy: all she has to do is close her eyes and take a breath.

Logical: It is extremely rare that Rowan will make a decision without weighing all possible outcomes and subsequent consequences. She’s lived far too long so to be careless. 

Love: For all of her cynicism, Rowan believes utmost in the powers of the heart, having both experienced and witnessed her fair share of love and heartbreak in equal parts over the last couple of centuries. 

Trinkets: While the contents of her house may look like they come out of the latest issue of Better Homes and Gardens magazine, the truth is most of them are either cursed objects, prizes collected from defeated enemies and the deceased, or houses of the poor souls who were stupid enough to cross her. 

Massachusetts:  Her mother sacrificed herself during the Trials in Salem (they didn’t actually live in Salem, though, just a neighboring hamlet that’d caught the Burn The Witch fever) so that the rest of the coven could survive. 

Familiar: A black cat called Hyperion, her familiar has been her companion for nearly one hundred years. The collar he wears is imbued with a powerful protection spell that will brand anyone who tries to harm him with her mark. 

Casket: Her second husband, a powerful necromancer in his own right, opened a funeral home in the late 1930s as a way freely experiment upon the dead. From him, she learned the fundamentals of resurrection. 

Revenge: She is not above taking revenge upon those who have hurt her or those she loves. It’s rarely violent, but you can guarantee that it is always cruel. 

Bookworm: For Rowan, reading is an escape. Books are precious to her and as such, she has an impressive collection of rare volumes and beloved novels in turn. 

Childhood: She grew up in the midst of the Salem Trials, witnessing firsthand the degree of hatred which humanity held for her kind. At age sixteen, she decided to do something about it and followed in her mother and grandmother and great grand father’s footsteps and gave her soul up. 

Language: It is utterly fascinating to her, and as such, she’s dedicated a great deal of time to learning as many as she can. Rowan can speak many different languages including French, Italian, Korean, German, Russian, Slavic, Greek, and, of course, Latin. 

Twilight: Her favorite time of day

Coffee: She only takes it black and usually only if she’s smoking a cigarette, which is a rarity in and of itself. 

Home: Occasionally she’ll visit the site of her childhood home and the tree from which her mother was hanged to remind herself that humans are just as capable of cruelty as she is. 

Knowledge: A firm believer that knowledge is powerful - almost as powerful as magic, in her opinion - and as such, she has acquired a handful of degrees over the last few centuries. Not that she needs them, but she likes having them. 

Independent: Rowan has never and will never depend upon another person. Not if she can help it, anyway. She values her ability to take care of herself. 

Selfless: However, she will never hesitate to offer her assistance to others. 

Technology: She has a love/hate relationship with modern technology. She recognizes the convenience and utilizes it to the fullest, but she believes that some of the mystery in the world is taken away by the easy accessibility to the wonders that, she feels, people should experience for themselves.

Sex: Something that she enjoys immensely, but she is very, very selective about her partners. Every now and again, though, she’s down for a fling. 

Vinyl: In addition to books, Rowan has a great love of music. Her favorite album is The Pious Bird of Good Omen, and she listens to it constantly. 

Stargazing: Absolutely 100% believes that there is no way humans and supernaturals are among the only beings in the entire universe. It’s just not possible.

Cooking: Is not something she is particularly good at and she has no intention of learning now.

Family: Of all of her family members, only three are still living: her grandfather, her aunt, and her father. All of the others were either killed or decided to pass on. 

Relationships: Over the last 340 years, Rowan has fallen in (and out) of love more times than she can count. Some of them ended amicably and others...well, there’s a reason why her shelves are cluttered with such odd objects. 

Temper: Rowan doesn’t exactly have the deepest reservoir of patience. Usually, she’s able to bite back the baser impulse to explode, but every now and again, her emotions get the better of her and very, very bad things happen. 

Charms: She wears an opal pendant on a long, silver chain that once belonged to her mother around her neck. Her fingers are decorated with rings as well, with each stone providing a different level of protection. 

1676: The year she was born. On the inside of her wrist, she has a tattoo of the year in Roman Numerals, though it’s usually obscured by the bracelets she wears. 

Sleep: Sleep is very difficult for Rowan to come by. Her mind is firing on all pistons 24/7 and it’s difficult for her to calm her thoughts long enough to get a sufficient amount of sleep. As such, she’s developed a rather terrible case of insomnia that not even the strongest potions can cure. Thank god for Netflix, am I right?

Whiskey: It’s her favorite thing to drink and she indulges in it regularly. 

Piano: As a young girl, her family’s most prized possession was an old piano forte. Her grandfather taught her how to play long before she’d given up her soul. The piano forte is still in her house, though nowadays she plays on the grand piano in the front parlor of the family townhouse. 

Cynicism: Despite being relatively young in the terms of most immortals, Rowan has seen enough despair and suffering - and has caused her own fair share of it, usually on a personal level - to adopt a rather cynical view of the world - and herself, to be honest.
