TL;DR: Valery and Shenkov end up in a bar at one point in the book, where they hear an American song playing. Here’s how the song is described in the text:

Anyways, I’m 99.99% sure this song is Do You Want to Dance by Bobby Freeman, which came out in 1958 and is therefore period accurate for a story set in 1963.
