The nagging feeling to spill her guts to Marnie has returned, stronger than the last time Ava had reached her limit on just how much guilt she could carry about hiding the worst parts of herself from others. Thankfully, the ghosts were a lot easier for her to talk about than the cratering.

Bringing it up a little more casually this time felt right to her as well, no need to make a bigger deal out of Khalaas than to mention her in passing. "Do you believe in ghosts?" Nice start, Ava. She scrunches her nose up, annoyed at herself for being that flippant. "I- That was shit, lemme start over. There is a shitty ghost following me around." Ava glances over at Marnie, trying to anticipate what her reaction might be so she can adjust her explanation accordingly. "...Odin too, but don't tell him I let you know, he gets really pissy when I bring it up."

Ava knows the risks that come with her being in the kitchen, and while sticking further back was generally the best for both of them she couldn’t always help herself. The desire to help out far outweighed the hesitation she had around certain appliances, so long as they were off it should be fine.

She’s been told she moves around quietly, which should have been her first thought when Ava had started to walk over to Marnie, but it wasn’t. Sometimes people felt her approaching by the way the temperature spiked, or saw the glow she cast off every remotely reflective surface. It should have been fine.

Marnie clearly hadn’t heard her, the way the older woman turned around and the knife that found itself in Ava’s shoulder were proof of such. Luckily for both of them, this isn’t the first time something like this has happened to her, and her only response is to laugh. Both as a nervous habit and her own generally poor reaction to a situation where she thinks that things will go south quickly.

“You’re gonna wanna disinfect this really, really well.” A hand reaches up to settle on the top of the knife’s blade, though she doesn’t make any movement to remove it. “I, um, I’m gonna go get a towel or something. I don’t think it’ll be an issue, but the knife might be… Really hot.” Ava starts to take a step back, before she realizes she should probably make sure Marnie know that there is nothing to worry about. “I’m okay! This, uh, it’s gonna be okay!”
