If you want a book that prepares you for learning more advanced kanji too, you could try Remembering the Kanji. It works with mnemonics, but it doesn't actually teach you reading or all meanings. If you don't mind it being digital, you can try wanikani. The first 2 levels are free. It works with mnemonics too, and with a Spaced Repetition System. I started that way, but now I make up my own mnemonics with radicals to remember stuff, and I use anki for reviewing.

Ok, so I had two questions thingies that came up at the same time (I'm so popular it hurts). Seriously, I'm very glad about it tho, but I'm going to answer both at the same time or it's going to be too laborious. Every ship is a ship to be respected, but I really don't get Mystrade, they never got a scene together in the show... But at least it's funny! ^^ 4. Have you ever changed your URL? 1. What is your biggest pet peeve? False notes. It makes me crazy. I'm capable of yell about it an whole day, especially if I played it -.- 2. Where have you always wanted to go? Egypt. Or Norway. I like hardcore weathers.

3. Do you have any pets? Shosta is my baby-boom-cha-cha-cha and I love her more than I can say, she's a princess, a goddess, everyone on your knees. 4. Who is your all time favorite character from a book, tv show, or movie? Hard question. I know how idiot it sounds, but it probably is Fran Fine from The Nanny Named Fran. She's pretty dumb, has an unbearable laugh and is a caricature at best, but I can't help. Every time she opens her mouth, I'm just... : "Oh, Franny. <3". I really think this kind of characters make us alive, you know? For being always so fun and living even if in the real world, they wouldn't last a week. 5. What is your favorite thing to do? Music. Singing, dancing, playing, composing. Ah, and eating. And drinking coffee. And smoking. Oh, yes, smoking. 6. What’s your favorite food? haven'T YOU HEARD ME IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO ANSWER THIS QUESTION!!! Don't you get it? I'm French! The best meals in the world are prepared just under my nose! I can't possibly have a preference for one of all this miracles. 7. Would you rather live in the city or the country? I live in the city (Marseille), I work in a bigger city (Paris), and it honestly bores me.
