Got these new coloring pencils so I decided to start this new lil challenge thingy for myself where I read the design descriptions of every cat for the book im currently reading and draw them based on that description alone!!

Rn im on book 1 of warriors since I read around 3 arcs of warriors in dutch n only now started to read it English, so yea!!

Anyway, here's my take on Rusty based on his description!! (Along with a few lil extra personal details :3)

Srry for the somewhat dirty paper above his ears, I first colored the wrong shade of orange n had to erase it but that fucked it up even more TvT

Also, finally learned how 2 draw a snoot!! Yippee 4 me!!

I've started listening to the warrior cats audiobooks while I draw, starting over at The Prophecies Begin since it has been years since I've actually read any of the books (a lot of my knowledge is surviving off of my memory of the first 3 arcs and then fandom content), and the sheer awe Rusty/Firepaw was in when he first meets some cats...how much he admired Bluestar... how much he originally admired TIGERCLAW, believing he was the most obvious choice for deputy after only just meeting him, despite knowing and speaking to Lionheart for much longer, despite Lionheart being the one to encourage Rusty in his fight to prove himself against Longtail...

Tigerclaw was rather polite to him too, which surprised me considering how he was treating his injured apprentice just moments before 😭 Although he does grow more hostile as time goes on. Fireheart and Tigerclaw's relationship has been so defined by the suspicion and betrayal between them, Fireheart is literally haunted by Bramblekit due to his resemblance to his father, it's crazy looking back with the curse of hindsight how cool little baby Firepaw thought he was, even if it's short lived.

commissions from back in November i haven't been able to get myself to format and post, also how i made my current favorite brush!

(commissions aren't formally open as i don't have prices or terms set yet, this was for a friend of family. though it was 40usd for the first and 35usd for the second)
