“Comfort”

Rustynail shipping art again, finally!

Ultimately, this piece is up for interpretation.

I was debating this being set just after Scott shred his ear but I decided against it because I wanted to show more of a solemn comfort rather than another depiction of them abusing each other. Scott’s pretty restrained in his way of comforting Adam but it’s the fact that he’s doing something I wanted to show.

Scott is intended to be ambiguous here. You don’t know what he is actually feeling himself. There’s a level of disconnect, as you cannot see his face and reaction to Adam crying. He rests his hand on Adam’s head and has his tail wrapped around his shoulders.

Still, he retains the dominant position in the composition, above Adam and standing over him.

I’m very happy with how this turned out overall! I love making “nostalgic” drawings with Scott and Adam, and here is another that shows that early 2000s vibe.
