i never mentioned but Wormwood manages to get along only with other medicine cats. which doesn't mean she's friends with them. she just tolerates them.

can't pick a medicine cat name for him, but the best one i came up with recently is Rustypath? idk might change later

Houndface's son, who wants to become Wormwood's apprentice because he hates his peers and likes how the medicine cat can be bossy sometimes and tell Pinestar to shut the hell up(medicine cats don't do that, Wormwood does)

his dad's disappointed and worried, because Wormwood is a bad person and Houndface thinks she might get to him and Pine through Rusty and is the worst role model for a child

Rusty thinks his dad's disappointed because Hound is the deputy and his ma Mapledawn is the best huntress in shadowclan, but Rusty's weak and wants to collect herbs and stuff instead of fighting and making his parents proud

basically everyone in the family is stressed, even Pinestar, but Wormwood literally doesn't care and is like "lmao if i get an apprentice i can do LESS than NOTHING? Pinestick GIMME ONE"

What's Wormwood's relationship with Rustypaw like? Are they close? Is she a good teacher or does she let him just do whatever?

Wormwood and Rustypaw are pretty close, but Wormwood keeps a distance because: one – his parents keep and eye on her in case she tries to manipulate Rusty into something, and two – she's not the kind of person who will willingly attach to someone who might one day just die or betray her(no, she doesn't have close friends). Rustypaw used to look at her with pure admiration but now he's is kinda anxious about how she treats Pinestar, because Pinestar is leader and Rusty's dad is deputy, and y'know. the shit Wormwood talks about Pinestar sometimes makes him nervous.

and, well, yes, Wormwood tries her best at mentoring Rusty, because he's hungry for knowledge and she likes bossing him around without being downright rude or abusive like with Pinestar. she will always remember how kind Sootface was to her and she won't dare throw a shadow on his memory by acting like shit towards some innocent kid.
