Did I ever properly give my pitch for Caitlyn x Ruth? I'mma do it even if I have, okay.

So, firstly, if you don't remember who Caitlyn is, she's the girl who Ruth wants to replace in the BBQ Monologues. She's played by Mariah, she wears that hat, do you remember? Okay, good.

My pitch for them is that Caitlyn is the only person in the entire school who, even before Jagerman died, is into Ruth. She has a crush on Ruth.

On the other hand, Caitlyn is the only person in the entire school who Ruth refuses to be horny for. She has stolen every single dream role she has ever had, and she doesn't even deserve them (in Ruth's eyes at least) and she refuses to indulge the thoughts that may intrude her head.

So, Caitlyn will try to talk to Ruth and like be friends to start with and Ruth will absolutely just brush her off. They're forced to spend some time together during drama class and practice and such, but Ruth is very curt the whole time.

Eventually Ruth is slapped in the face with the realisation that Caitlyn wants to sleep with her, and jumps at the chance. Along the way of doing that, she realises Caitlyn is a really great person and she's always trying her best to bring characters to life, and yeah, maybe okay she's deserved all the roles she got. Ruth would do better still, but Caitlyn did a good job with them.

(Yes, I still ship Ruth with Brenda as well. I think Caitlyn has had a crush on Ruth longer than Brenda has, but Brenda gets together with Ruth first, those are my personal headcanons.)
