“AHHHHGGG! I can’t find it! I knew I put it here before I left for Beacon!”
Ruby Rose, respected leader of Team RWBY, one of the best Scythe-wielders Vale had ever seen, and apparently destined to be an amazing warrior because of her silver eyes, was currently sprawled on all fours in her bedroom, attempting to locate that pesky first-aid kit.
Under the bed was the only place left to check. Lowering herself onto her belly, she carefully scrunched underneath the low wooden edge, making sure to hold her breath as she wiggled her way through (a years’ worth of dust bunnies was the last thing she wanted to breath in).
Aha! Victory at last! Ruby’s hand triumphantly closed over the small plastic container, sliding it out as she inched backwards from her bed. But just before she freed herself, she noticed another small box, formerly hidden from sight by the first aid kit. This one was wooden, its red paint faded from old age.
RWBY Relationship Week 5
Day 7 - Yang Xiao Long and Neo
**Note: I’m so tired today this is really dumb don’t even bother honestly. Takes place at the beginning of the tournament.
--------------
“I'll catch you guys later!”
Yang called this out to her teammates as they parted ways at the heart of the fairgrounds. There was a break in tournament activities for the current lunch hour, and the four of them had decided to spend a bit of leisure time exploring. Ruby and Weiss headed off together, and Blake stayed at Yang's side as they started off in the opposite direction.
As they walked, Yang couldn't help but smile, occasionally stealing a glance at her partner. Blake's bow was perked tall as she gazed around at all of the foreigners. A lot of them had ears and tails.
They soon passed by a group of Faunus, and Blake gasped aloud in excitement. Yang paused and cocked her head.
“You know them?”
RWBYRSWEEK Day 7: Cardin Winchester and Lie Ren
“Hey, Ren…” Cardin greeted Ren.
“Hello, Cardin.” Ren replied. They were on board the evacuation ship to the outskirts of Vale. Cardin had approached Ren knowing what he wanted and had to say. But no he was having trouble finding the words.
“I’m, uh…I’m really sorry about her…Pyrrha, I mean…” He began.
“We all are, Cardin. There was nothing anyone could’ve done. But thank you.”
“It’s just I…I guess I wasn’t always on good terms with her. No fault of her own, of course.” Cardin tried to apologize for his past indiscretions, but it all seemed moot.
“It’s alright, Cardin. That’s all in the past. It’s just time for us to move on.” Ren replied. There was a moment of silence between the two of them. Cardin was on the verge of giving up. He clearly hadn’t timed this right.
“I am sure…if Pyrrha were here, she would appreciate and accept your apology." Ren said, placing a hand on Cardin's shoulder. Cardin sighed.
"I would hope so."

RWBYRSWEEK Day 6: Arslan Altan and Yang Xiao Long
It was the winter season following the Battle of Beacon and there was a knock at the door of a small cottage on the Valian island of Patch. The patriarch of the Xiao Long household, Taiyang Xiao Long, flicked the pause button on the remote of his television set and looked curiously towards the sound of the knock. He hadn't been expecting any visitors today. It could have been Qrow stopping in again to see Yang, but he hadn't been around for a week or so. Tai got out of his recliner seat and walked to the door. He check the peephole to see a young girl with short blonde hair and a dark complexion. She was dressed in monk-like attire and wore a slightly sour expression. "Umm...hello. Can I help you?" Taiyang said after opening the door. "Good morning, my name is Arslan Altan. I was told this was the Xiao Long residence. I'm looking for Yang." She said. This girl seemed to get right to the point. "Yes, this is. I'm Yang's father, Taiyang. How do you know my daughter exactly?" He asked. "I am the leader of Haven's Team ABRN. We fought against Yang and her teammates in the first round of the Vytal Tournament. I wished to come and see how she has been recovering." "Oh, well I'm sure she would appreciate that, as do I. But, uh...see, Yang isn't exactly in the mood for visitors." Taiyang said with an innocent shrug. He was sorry this girl made the trip just to see Yang, but his daughter was in no mood to speak with anyone. She was even somewhat cold at times with him. "Please, Mr. Xiao Long. I implore you to allow me an audience with her." She pressed on. She came here with an objective and she would see it through no matter what. "Well...I, um...ya see, it's...," Taiyang tried to explain. "Dad, who's at the door." Said Yang from the hallway behind him. Taiyang turned around to his daughter, Arslan able to see Yang past him. "Yang, I wish to speak with you." She said, walking right past Taiyang. Why couldn't the man seem to keep control of his own house? "A-Arslan, right? I know you came here just to help a friend, but I have to ask you to le-" "It's alright, dad." Yang said. She didn't want to speak with Arslan or anyone, but she knew Arslan was one to see things through, so there no point in turning her away. Yang walked back into her room and Arslan followed after her. Taiyang heaved a weary sigh and shuffled back to his chair and the TV. Yang sat back on her bed, her eyes staring back out the window. She allowed Arslan to speak, but that didn't mean she was interested in what she had to say. "First, I am sorry what happened to you. Everyone is." Arslan said, her tone not quite as soft as it should've been. Yang huffed in retort. "Not as sorry as me." She said. "What I am most sorry for, however, is for the fact that you've given up." Arslan continued, her tone becoming even harder than before. Yang's eyebrows knit together, but she refused to look Arslan in the eye. "You may have noticed that your arm is not the only thing which has been lost. The girl from JNPR, Pyrrha. The robo...the girl, Penny, from Atlas. But more than that is that we have all lost our safety, our security, our lives. We know our enemy is powerful enough to hit us where we feel most protected. We are no longer students, you and I. None of us are. We are soldiers, warriors who must help face and push back the forces of darkness who have hurt and crippled us so." Yang felt her blood begin to heat up. Crippled us? In case Arslan was blind and unaware, she was the one here who was crippled. "It's not my enemy and it's not my fight...not anymore. I'm finished. Do I look like I can fight?" She hissed back at Arslan, still not looking her way. "You look like a ghost of the fighter you used to be. A fighter with such power, ferocity, and will that you could seemingly demolish a mountain if it stood in your way. But now look at you. You wallow in this room while some of us continue to struggle against the tide, knowing there is no assurance that we won't be washed away like those before us. You should never have tried to become a Huntress if your spirit can be broken so easily. You're nowhere near as strong as I once thought you were. You're soft, weak, a disgrace to your kingdom and your family." Yang's eyes erupted in a fierce red glow as she swung her right arm at Arslan out of reflex. It wasn't until she was falling out of bed that she remembered that fist of hers no longer existed. Before Yang could collide face first with the floor, Arslan caught her, her arms hooking beneath Yang's. Yang's lower body slipped from the bed, leaving both the girls resting on their knees. "There you are." Arslan whispered, her voice taking up a more hopeful tone. "There is the girl I thought had been lost." Yang struggled against Arslan's soft grasp but found it was no use. Her eyes still their fiery red, yet tears began leaking from them. Yang sniffled and growled furiously as her chin rested on Arslan's shoulder. "You are scared, I know. Scared to lose what little you may have left. But I have proven your will to fight and protect can still overpower that fear." As Yang continued to sob, Arslan pushed away so that they may finally look at each other for the first time during this conversation. "We've learned that your sister and the remaining members of JNPR have begun to journey for my home kingdom. They have safety in their group, but Ruby needs you, Yang. She needs your love and support more than ever before. My team and I would be happy and honored to escort you to Mistral so that you may reunite with her." Yang wiped the tears from her eyes and nodded in determination. She would no longer hide herself away from the world while her younger sister risked life and limb to right was had been wronged. "Dad, I'm gonna be heading out for a while!" Yang called to get father in the other. "Okay, sweetie. Any reason why though?" Taiyang called back. Yang gave Arslan a confident smile, to which Arslan returned with a smile of her own. "Just getting some fresh air."
