I knew two things when I saw him: 1: Far too many people will stan him for no good reason. 2: He is going to be terrible. And i was RIGHT. He started bad and got worse. I'm assuming this is how one would submit a situation? So I just joined a new party in the Underdark, and playing a Tiefling Paladin, which threw them for a loop. Then as we were going to see a group called The Five, we were stopped by a young Kobold wearing armor made of spoons. He only came to us because he saw my holy symbol and knew I was a paladin. He then asked me about gods, I then failed a religion check, but the dm let me try again because we said we didn't know he was talking to me.
Your DM was nice enough to let you roll with advantage, but I think that was mostly so they could keep the story going. You do what you gotta do.
