RP Advent Calendar: Day Five & Six
[Advent Meme]
A male character (of someone else's)
Ima break all the rules and do two of each because I can.
This crazy sonuvabitch right here is Ezra Whittaker, and he holds a very special place in my heart. In the 2 years and however many months I've been in this RP community, Ezra stands out as one of the most unique and realistic BioShock OCs I've ever had the privilege of interacting with. His back story is also one of the more detailed & memorable canons I've seen in all my time as a roleplayer. What I love most, though, is the dimension of his character--there's so much thought put into his personality, mentality, and habits. Ezra is layered like a real person. He's emotional while still being callous. He's equipped with believable flaws and strengths. More, he's human while still being a psychopath.
Seriously, 10/10 would Ezra again.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, in a fandom far, far away, we have Edward Nigma--aka, the love of my freaking life. The snark is strong with this particular Eddie, and the best of all his character arcs--comic, BtaS, nolanverse, etc--are well represented. I'm also a huge fan of how extensive this Riddler's headcanon is, and how much attention there is to detail. I mean, as there should be. This is captain OCD we're talking about. But seriously, if you are a fan of Eddie or Batman in general, this portrayal won't disappoint you. I'm not super familiar with the DC fandom on tumblr yet, but this is by far one of my favorite blogs.
Plus he's a babe.
A female character (of someone else's)
She's beauty! She's grace! She'll punch you in the face! Seriously though, Sara Santa Maria is an OC that I'm crazy about. OCs are tough to play in general, but to embody such a fierce female OC has got to be one helluva challenge. Not that I'd know, because Sara makes it seem so freaking easy. Her back story is incredible, and I love the cultural & historical elements involved in it. She's a sass queen in two languages, and it's an absolute dream getting to banter with her. I mean, even if all my characters fear for their testicles when she's around.
Katherine Piper over here has been with me through thick & thin. It's been 84 years (more or less) and I'm still not over how great she is. For real, there are endless possibilities with Katherine. She is up for nearly any plot, any AU, and any ridiculous ship that you can think of, and she just rolls with it like a pro. You can throw a million curve-balls at her, and her writing will never dip in quality. She's so laid back & fun to interact with, that you just never get bored. The world needs more clever, adaptive characters like that. Think of how much happier we'd all be.
