The man frowned heavily, the corners of his well trimmed beard dipping down at the question. He was obviously cross at the question, the anger hidden behind a carefully worn and trained mask.❝That whore slept with the knife ear on more than one occasion. He sired two of her children.❞ He spoke with venom in his voice, a harsh anger to his words as he spoke, but still careful to keep his anger in check.

33. Do they drink? Take drugs? What about their health?

Tallis drinks, though not as much as she feels she should sometimes.  She also smokes elfroot as a self medication technique for when her anxiety and stuff flares up really badly.  After all, no therapists or lorazapan in this universe.

38. Are they basically negative when facing new things? Suspicious? Hostile? Scared? Enthusiastic?

Despite the Qun’s rigid and unforgiving nature, Tallis actually LOVES new things.  She loves to learn and is extremely intelligent, even new magic if only because it represents a challenge to her skills and defeating or outwitting it puts her one above the mage in question.

42. What does your character want most? What do they need really badly, compulsively? What are they willing to do, to sacrifice, to obtain?

Tallis wants to belong.  That’s it.  She can’t, because of her upbringing, form connections the same way and has a ton of walls up to protect herself from getting hurt but because of how they work she hardly ever actually forms a connection with other people which leaves her feeling like an outsider no matter where she is or what she’s doing.  She wants to belong to something, be that the Qun, a group of friends some higher ideal, ect.  She’s done a LOT of terrible things in the name of the Qun to try to make her place there and even now she’s not sure she has one at all.

What are their intellectual shortcomings?

Janys belongs to those people who have a lot of half-knowledge. She will have heard of many books, events, places, people- and still have no real clue what it’s all about. Her parents tried everything to educate her, but Janys has no real interest for art, culture, literature and music. Do not try to discuss any of these topics with her because it will lead to “yeah I heard of a guy who wrote some book about some guy who did some stuff”

How might they be ignorant or prejudiced?

Janys has a slight bias towards Qunari due to her very patriotic family. However, in most cases, she’s simply very ignorant. Her experiences with the ‘real world’ are limited, because even if she was not her parents’ pet, she did grow up in a very sheltered environment. Janys does not see anything wrong with slavery, mainly because she supposes that everyone treats their slaves in an okay way and because she never came to truly question this practice. She’s equally ignorant of the lives of the many refugees around the big cities of Tevinter and their misery. Furthermore, she is somewhat clueless about the elves and their struggles, both in cities and in the wilds. Janys thinks she knows it all, and yet she knows nothing.

What is a self-inflicted misery of theirs? 

Actually, her life is really quite carefree. The life on the road and the constant travels are sometimes difficult and definitely not comparable to the life she could leave at home. But on the whole, she is unlikely to complain about her life.

nah, I absolutely adore that kind of thing; she’s never completely gotten out of the tamassran way of thinking, she loves babying people :’D
