sometimes a family is you (an AI), a wife who wants to bring your creator back from the dead, a son who just compared you to a boat w/ all its planks changed, and a dog that really likes sammiches
it's gonna take a while.
oh there's a little depressed kid outside
would love to have sada, turo and arven in her office
❝ ... hey, kid. are you alright? ❞ hands are stuffed in grusha's pockets as he awkwardly approaches the younger man — maybe it isn't his place to ask, but he couldn't just leave him here without making sure he'd be okay. a hand moves upward briefly to pull down his scarf &&. scratch at his chin before he crouches next to him &&. tilts his head. ❝ i'd be careful if i were you. if you cry, your tears would definitely freeze onto your face out here. ❞ / @rxmedyfind

It wasn't uncommon for students to approach him during his off hours. Some of the staff had suggested to him to hide in the Staff Room to avoid an onslaught of pestering, but honestly Saguaro rather enjoyed the company. And being able to answer the questions his students came to him with left him with a sense of accomplishment he was sure he couldn't get anywhere else. It felt good to be of service, in what little ways he could.
Though he did usually like to stay off in the background while he allowed the visitors to his classroom to enjoy themselves. It made the place feel like home. And it was even more joy to see those students which came to him again and again, that they could slowly build rapport with each other that he might even become something of a confidant.
Master Arven was one of those, though Saguaro wasn't sure he'd exactly call himself a confidant. Arven didn't seem to trust anyone with the things that were going on in his head (or maybe he was just in such a rush to experiment than he never gave anyone time to ask), but he certainly came by enough. As the home economics instructor, and the staff with the most answers to food related questions, Arven was usually in and out with some thought or another. Today was no different, it seemed, and the young man was in front of his desk before he even got his own lunch up to his mouth. Still, he allowed himself to be interrupted and lowered the utensil, offering Arven a small smile as he turned his attention toward him.
"Ah, Young Master Arven," he greeted with a dip of his head. "So good to see you this evening. How can I be of assistance today?"

“Yes. . . Yes, it is.” Grusha can’t help but sigh in slight annoyance. He pulls his scarf up a little more over his nose before tucking his hands in his pockets. What is it with people coming here without knowing what to expect? Is noone informing trainers about how cold this area really is? Have the stores stopped selling proper warm clothing? Looks like he’ll have to make time in his schedule to go talk to Geeta about this nonsense.
“It’s always cold here. You should know that. Noone is keeping this a secret. Did you forget or something?”
But he also can’t just leave the son of the two professors out here in the cold. Does he even have any fire pokémon to keep himself warm right now? Well, if he had at least one, he should’ve let them out of their pokéball by now.
That’s what any smart trainer who isn’t used to the cold would do.
“Come. I’ll take you to my lodge. You can stay there to warm up for a bit. I’ll even make you some nice hot chocolate.”
