There’s a joke about a leprechaun dressed in green and a pot of gold at the end of this rainbow somewhere … it’s a #WorkInProgress 🍀 Happy St. Patrick’s Day
So, I lost my phone two weeks ago … I was on an end of summer trip with my husband and some friends and BAM. Gone. My lifeline. My news source. My camera. My always-in-my-hand-even-when-I-don’t-realize-it gadget. Suddenly I was hands free. A lot of friends have asked me if I panicked. If it was hard. If I felt isolated. I mean, I was on an island with no way to get another one, so yes. But I also felt free. I watched people wander to and fro and eat meals at crowded tables with friends, laughing. I took photos of my trip on an actual camera. I stared at the horizon line. And in the days since I’ve gotten a new one I’m on it less. And that feels nice. I know a break is a luxury for a lot of us. And might really screw up a lot of people’s days. But if you can, by some chance, take one? 10/10 recommend. I’m always going to love reading the news and sharing stories and celebrating my humans on this thing. But I’m going to see if I can just refrain from picking it up a little more. Maybe just 10% of the times I reach for it, I’ll put it down? What might happen? What might I see if I look up? Anyone else wanna try with me? Just a little?
