Jersey Boys Movie Cast Interview with Ryan Jay
This interview has to be one of my favorites because they talk about getting Broadway performers vs. Hollywood actors for Musical movie adaptations. JLY's jab at Hugh Jackman was fantastic. Les Mis is one of my favorite musicals, and the movie did not do it justice because they casting compromised the quality of the performances.
Jersey Boys on the other hand, although it is different from the Broadway musical has quality performances and the actors chosen for the roles already ARE the characters.
Rarely is a musical movie adaptation well done, so I gladly saw Jersey Boys 3 times in the theater and would see it again in a heartbeat. Good casting is hard to find in movies these days and Jersey Boys was spot on.
Thanks to John Lloyd Young, Michael Lomenda, and Erich Bergen for bringing life to these fantastic characters and providing me with one of my favorite new movies!
