Happy Storyteller Saturday Quill! What old or new character are you most excited to bring to life on paper?
Happy STS, mate! As for the answer:
HECKIN’ XUÂN
They’re such a heckin’ fun character my stars
But really Quill’s just biased because they’re both a favourite and they’re based on an earlier original character of mine that I had a whole whack of fun with, so there’s all sorts of nostalgia there, too.
I’m also excited to write. Uh. So many. So many of the new characters I’m planning to have pop up in book two and three. Sylvie’s definitely one of them, Ahira too. And even though he’s the most meanest of jerks, Captain Ryans is also someone I’m excited to write~
Thanks for the ask~!

happy storyteller saturday!!! uwu who's the villain of your wip? If you don't have a villain, is there an equivalent? How do they contrast against your mcs? ^_^
Storyteller Saturday!
I don’t technically have a true villain in One Siren’s Soul because the role is kinda shared/cycles around to a few different characters! Plus, no one is black and white evil or good, so in all honesty, the main protagonists could be called villains depending on what side you’re on.
In book one, Captain Io acts like the “bad guy” for a major portion of it, but then you find out that Rose has actually been manipulating her the entire time so! Really it’s Rose!
In book two, Captain Xuân initially starts out as the villain, but there’s... something funny going on, there. c; More genuinely, Captain Ryans would likely count more so as a small villain, but Rose reappears later on in the book and she still probably hits the top on the “evilness” scale.
And book three mostly focuses on The Scientist! But... is this person actually a villain? Not as much as one of the main four we’ve been following this entire time.
Hey, look at all those spoilers! How fun!
Captain Io and Celestine are the most notable contrast of book one. Seemingly emotionless, obsessed with efficiency and formality and honour, stubborn to a fault on one side vs. an emotional, disorganized and rude and manipulating thief, who’s adaptable to most things thrown her way on the other.
But Io becomes a main character in book two! She and Captain Ryans have been rivals since they were kids, and Ryans goes just... a bit too far on his side when they meet again as adults. They’re both very formal, but the pretentiousness and brash and unnecessary meanness of Ryans is very distinct from Io’s personality. She’s also had a lot of character development by this point, so there’s a lot else but those are spoilers~
And I can’t talk much about Xuân or The Scientist because! Spoilers too!! But in any case, thanks for the ask!
