1. What got you interested in your favorite team? One of my friends when I was in elementary school was/is in LOVE with the Penguins, so I watched a few games here and there. Then when I was older, I watched the 2008 Winter Classic and fell in love.

2. Why do you love hockey? I think the reason I love it the most is because it's something I've never personally done, and I feel a complete admiration for the way they play. It's one of those places where I can channel my feelings into something that doesn't...harm me?

3. What song/songs have been on repeat this summer for you? "It's Time" by Imagine Dragons, and "Between the Raindrops" by Lifehouse.

4. What is your favorite item of clothing and why? My favorite piece of clothing is my Alaskan Amber sweatshirt for the Summer Ale. It's SO comfortable, and it's just a material piece of home that I can take with me to take pride in where I'm from.

5. Favorite piece of technology? Laptop, for sure.

6. Favorite room in your house? My room is my favorite - it's just the place where I can be in complete solitude.

7. Favorite restaurant? Whooo....I'm not sure. I don't go to restaurants very often, so I can't really answer this one haha.

8. Favorite food? ....well....it's not really a food, but more of a condiment but I LOVE sauerkraut. Actually, scratch that - my favorite food would have to be Brats, so I can have sauerkraut with them :)

9. Something you've been craving lately? Does this have to be food related? Because I've been craving this guy for a while now...haha

10. Favorite drink? Cold - Red Bull Spritzer, Hot - Latte (thank goodness for coffee).

11. Favorite thing about summer? Summer for me is a time to just relax and not have to worry about deadlines, or expectations.

Alright! Ready for my questions? (my answers)

1. Are you afraid of anything? Not really, I guess the only thing I'm afraid of is letting things I want slip through my fingers...

2. What did you want to be when you grew up? When I was younger, for the longest time I wanted to become a trauma surgeon. We wrote letters to ourselves in the beginning of fifth grade that our teacher sent to us once we finished eighth grade and I basically told myself to not forget that I NEED to become a trauma surgeon, that was my dream.

3. Any scars? I have a pretty big scar on my left knee from softball, and then a bunch on my arms from bug bites - Alaskan summers kill.

4. Can you ice skate?Unfortunately, I'm completely awful at ice skating.

5. What historical figure would you love to see in the 21st century life? I think it would be really interesting to see Elizabeth I in modern times, I would want to see if she would have the same impact in modern times as she did back in her time.

6. What's your favorite grocery/supermarket chain? I LOVE Costco!

8. What color are the walls of the room that you're in? They're a light blue color.

9. What does your first name mean? It means Ash Tree.

10. What are some of the traits/qualities of the person you have a crush on/like/love that made you fall for them? He's one of the nicest guys I know, but he doesn't like to show that to people. He would do just about anything for anyone, and he is so smart - but doesn't acknowledge it. He makes me feel like I can be myself around him, and I love that.

11. Do you describe the letter 'Z' as 'zee' or 'zed'? I say 'zee'.

I've always been into the sport since I was little but not heavily until recently. I've been going to ECHL games for as long as I can remember. And then during the lockout, I fell into the hockey fandom and fell in love with more teams than just the Sharks, Caps, and Oilers.

2. What are your top 5 favorite hockey blogs on tumblr?

3. Favorite two-way player?

Gotta be Tazer. Given half a chance, I will wax poetic about his responsibility with the puck, his ice vision, his defensive play... OK I'm stopping now before I write a novel.

4. Have you ever been to an NHL game? If so, what teams?

I saw the Caps play the.... Senators, I believe, in 2011 and the Sharks play somebody when I was like 6.

5. Least favorite team?

The Islanders. And it's not even them. I'm indifferent to the team in general but Crosby got hurt twice in their arena this year and the fans cheered both times and so the only strong memory I have of them as a team is of me being fucking furious.

6. Could you ever date someone that hated sports? Or had a totally different music taste?

Both of the serious boyfriends I've had were indifferent to sports so yes (but one at least asked about the finer points of baseball when he didn't understand why my entire family was screaming at a Giants game). And I don't think it's possible to have a totally different music taste than me because I listen to everything. Except jazz. I can't handle jazz.

7. Most attractive NHL player?

Oh Lord. Gabe Landeskog. I just... unf. With Alex Galchenyuk a close second.

I have a thing for blondes. I don't know if you can tell.

8. Can you draw or write stories?

I can't even draw a straight line with a ruler. But I can write. I'm decently good, I'd say. Not great but not G-d-awful.

9. Favorite kind of music?

Um I guess alternative? Most of my music of late has been a mix of Ellie Goulding, The Cab, Marina and the Diamonds, and Florence + the Machine.

10. Favorite movie of all time?

Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas. It's been my favorite movie for basically my entire life.

11. Favorite stupid rap song?

Does 3Oh!3 count as rap? If yes, I'd say either Punkbitch or I Can't Do It Alone
