can we all agree that making fun of people for micro labels is kinda cringe?

im the kind of person who finds it difficult to reconcile all the parts of my identity and just using one umbrella term feels reductive. my relationships and feelings deserve terms just as much as anyone else.

Okay maybe I’m being dumb, but I think throwing video games out of the conversation about gun violence completely is a bad idea. Because it’s not the video games themselves, but the culture around video games really does allow alt-right ideas to spread to young white boys.

Alt-right ideology has a tendency to spread through ‘jokes’ and you can see this really clearly in video game culture. The culture can be a great example of this behavior in action. But I worry that the conversation is so focused on ‘violence in video games’ and not enough on ‘video game culture is very toxic and often problematic’

The LGBTQ+ human rights crisis in Russia is getting worse

The Russian Government is currently trying to make it as difficult as possible to transition or be transgender within the country. This includes making marriage much more difficult, and make changing identity markers like sex much more difficult. Additionally, transgender parents will no longer be able to adopt. This is a critical human rights issue.

Most notably they’re moving to put sex on birth certificates (which they currently do not have). This is clearly to target transgender individuals. They also seek to null all same-sex marriages even if done overseas

So, what can you do?

You can contact the Duma and Council with information found here.

You can also sign this petition, which I know many people do not believe in but they CAN make change so at least try.

someone 100% correct me if I’m wrong, or explain it to me, but I think cancel culture has one big strikingly ableist thing and that is how the consumption of the media is ridiculed to such a point where an individual who is neurodivergent feels uncomfortable divulging their interest in the topic.

like alright some media is problematic, and a lot of time media creators are problematic, but for the love of god can we agree not to cyber bully autistic kids on the internet for creating art, and fan fictions, and stuff?
