A classic Reuben sandwich with rye bread, Swiss cheese, corned beef, sauerkraut, and Thousand Island dressing, grilled to perfection.
Ingredients: 4 slices of rye bread. 8 slices of Swiss cheese. 8 slices of corned beef. 1/2 cup of sauerkraut, drained. 1/4 cup of Thousand Island dressing. 2 tablespoons of butter.
Instructions: Place 4 pieces of rye bread on a clean surface. On each piece of bread, put two slices of Swiss cheese. Put two corned beef slices on top of the cheese on each piece of bread. Place an equal amount of sauerkraut on top of each slice of corned beef. On each sandwich, put 1 tablespoon of Thousand Island dressing on top of the sauerkraut. Add the last few slices of rye bread to the top of each sandwich to make a sandwich. Put a little over a tablespoon of butter on the outside of each sandwich. Set the pan on medium heat and add the sandwiches. It should be cooked for three to four minutes on each side, or until the cheese melts and the bread is toasted. Take it out of the pan, cut it in half, and serve it hot.
