“Rise and shine, love,” Kakashi whispers, a kiss on top of her head.
She likes the edge of his voice in the mornings. It surprises her sometimes, keeps her heart skipping, butterflies stirring.
“Remind me why I’m married to you again?” Sakura groans, mocking, as if she doesn’t like it.
Kakashi smirks, because he always knows, and he tucks her under his chin, “Because I love you, and you love me, and you said yes.”
“And remind me why I need to wake up?” she whispers, and she knows that her grip is not strong enough anymore.
And she feels him smile, his chuckles seem distant.
“Because you promised.”
And her eyes open, fall onto gray curtains dancing with the wind. The sun streaks step inside her window.
And the other side of her bed remains completely still.
