I need feral Ryley you don't understand

I need to see a person who has spent so long on a foreign planet, fighting for every meal and small comfort, they've not only figured out how to survive, but also integrated themself into the environment.

I need to see a Ryley who's so strongly part of the ecosystem that they'll willingly fight a stalker for a peeper. I need to see a Ryley who stops caring about the quality of food, as long as it's edible.

I need to see that person become a Creature. They've earned it methinks.

One thing I keep having to think about for Stupid Lucky (or really any AU where Al-an and Ryley would have a chance of meeting) is that Ryley would probably HATE Al-an. Violently. For what he caused. Sure, even if not all of it was intentional, it was still Al-an's fault. And Ryley will not let him forget that.

I do think that person would try to square up with the goat-shrimp-deer thing. I do think they'd be (rightfully) petty.

If Robin and Al-an stay on 4546b? Attack on sight. Ryley knows he'll probably get beat big time, but they will still try.

Ryley finds out Robin helped Al-an? Oooooh boy.

Y'know, the fact that Ryley is the nonessential systems maintenance chief means that he is more than likely very familiar with repair tools, how they work, and what they do

And he still chose to stick his finger in it

Characterization in Subnautica is so good the writers got people obsessing over and yumeshipping with a character whose dialogue consists of half a word and cut content. We see his face once. Their lack of interaction is a key piece of their story.

Give me a Ryley with survivor's guilt

Give me a Ryley who wants to apologize to everybody he couldn't save

Give me a Ryley who prays for forgiveness from a god they don't even believe in

Give me a Ryley who blames himself for their dead crew because if he had just fixed that stupid panel they could have been there to help

Do you think Ryley would be mad after going back to Alterra. I know he wrote his book and all that but do you think he'd be mad. The government they were raised in, the government that put them on the maiden voyage of a capital ship, is the same government that screwed them over. The same government that sent him across the galaxy in a faulty ship. The same government that cares so little about them, that they couldn't bother to pause their lunch planning to get them home.

OP wants to go into Subnautica 2 blind. If there is info on Ryley from Subnautica 2, do not tell me about it. I want to find it on my own.
