thoughts on supergirl (spoilers below the cut) (plus some personal stories of my own)
it's taken me a few hours to collect my thoughts and such on this movie. i knew it wasn't going to get the best reviews when i saw how spunky and outspoken (affectionate) milly is. but let me tell you -- i adored the way she played kara.
milly absolutely acted her ASS off. and she is so deserving of all the praise she's being given. as a 22 year old who has lost a parent, i felt so seen. the idea of "you just have to be good. you don't need to be nice, but you need to be kind. you need to be tough," really settled in my chest and stayed there.
i am so grateful that themes like grief and loss can be explored through a mainstream movie like this. it makes things just a little easier for people like me to explain. it's a visual representation/storytelling about how grieving can affect your life and the lives of those who love you.
oh, supergirl, i love you. i am feeling so seen and needed. thank you for telling the story of every young girl who is still trying to find herself <3

Knight of Despair defs!! We're basically twinning at this point with ego gear and blue hair ☆ She always seems so miserable I wish I could do something to help..
I don't really have a favourite, but One Sin is generally a good pick. I feel a sense of comfort working with it, even though the skull did unnerve me a bit on my first day of work.
I quite like La Luna. It's unfortunate if she breaches.. but her music is just lovely... you can hear it all the way from Welfare in Training sometimes.. so it helps to calm my nerves a bit.
Funeral of the Dead Butterflies for me of course. Honestly just a chill dude as well. Easy as hell to work on and we're basically best buddies at this point. I'd like if Ryn could stop nagging me about getting too attached to the Abnos though. It's for a good reason, you should know this.
