"You've been ordered to work with someone who can watch your back when you inevitably rush headfirst into danger again, like last month," Ryoh retorted with irritation in his voice. "And, by the way, it's my sister."
"Wonderful," Rayne replied coldly, "I don't need family ties. I need stability and results."
He had no idea how much his view of the world was about to change.

Ryoh, pouring tea, nearly scalded himself with boiling water. "What Uncle Rayne?"
He went out into the yard and… saw Rayne. Holding a tiny white rabbit.
"This is a gift for your son," Rayne said impassively.
"Who let you into my house?" Ryoh asked quietly.
"Your sister. We… are seeing each other."
A pause.
"...How long?"
"Seven months and twenty-three days."
Ryoh opened his mouth but couldn't find the words.
A month later, Rain invited him to dinner. Informal. No uniforms. No scarves.
"Do you really love her?" Ryoh asked when they were alone on the veranda.
Rayne looked at the stars. "I don't know how to talk about feelings. But if anyone ever hurts her—I will destroy them. Even if that someone is me."
"Good answer," Ryoh chuckled. "But if you hurt her, know this… I'm still a Divine Visionary. And an older brother."
"Understood."
Years passed. At Rayne and (Y/N)'s wedding, Ryoh walked her down the aisle. His son carried flowers. The entire Bureau whispered about how incredibly harmonious light and shadow looked together. They were different—and that was precisely their strength.
And when their daughter was born—with amber eyes and light strands of hair—Ryoh admitted for the first time, looking at her, "Alright. Now you're definitely part of our family, Rayne."
Rayne just nodded. And then he handed the baby a soft rabbit toy.

will shake all over out of fluster and blush all over the place. definitely stutters when you're in the closet together and will try to be as respectful to you as they could. during the entire seven minutes was just pure silence and awkwardness. nothing really much happens inside, but at the very last two seconds, you'll lean in to place a kiss on their cheek and their cheeks will BURN.
