This is very, very random and rushed. It’s part of a bigger project I had for @haikyuurarepairweek2020 (day 6). The prompts are “Storm” in this case and “Mythology!AU” ━ or, well, it’s an Akatsuki no Yona!AU, but since The Four Dragons are part of Kouka’s legends and are considered deities it should count as mythology. It was supposed to be entirely different, but... it’s a start?
Pairing: Oikawa Tooru/Nishinoya Yuu ━ OiNoya. Setting: Akatsuki No Yona. Word count: 535.
hey guess what I am in need of Jae-ha & Shinah bonding so here’s some headcanons about these babbys being friends
tbh they probably start “bonding” purely because they’re constantly exposed to each other. Shinah watches out for everyone and keeps tabs on all their interests and habits, so a few days after Jae-ha joined the group, Shinah incorporated him into a little “Jae-ha routine” which includes, but is not limited to, helping him fold up his hammock, pouring a little bit of his food into Yona’s share just like Jae-ha does, and offering to carry his bags whenever Jae-ha has to carry someone.
the true bonding doesn’t happen until after the nadai incident, because lbr, Jae-ha probably had some hallucinations about ryokuryuu village and ended up spilling some deep-set secrets of his. Everyone else decided never to bring it up, but Shinah was bothered by a few of the things Jae-ha said, since they struck a cord within him, reminding him of the abuse he had suffered back in seiryuu village. When everything in the Water Tribe settled down and the bunch started traveling again, Shinah stayed up all night, watching Jae-ha, both in worry about those “withdrawal symptoms” he had heard about, and also in curiosity, because he wanted to talk to Jae-ha about his village but he didn’t know how to approach him.
When Jae-ha finally noticed that Shinah was watching him constantly, he pulled him over and asked him about his sudden interest. That’s when Shinah asked him about his past. After a whole lot of awkwardness and Jae-ha trying to dodge the question, they had a short but sweet heart-to-heart about some of the stuff they had to deal with in their youth.
Jae-ha becomes about 5000% more protective of Shinah after their talk, but also 1000% more playful with him, because, hey, friendship is all about bothering your friend about his mask, right? Right.
okay but imagine Jae-ha becoming much more attentive of when Shinah’s uncomfortable and usually being the first person to step in whenever Shinah starts having major anxiety. Like, yeah, he teases Shinah a whole hell of a lot about taking off his mask, but he’s careful about not pushing Shinah too far, and in the cases when he does go too far, he makes sure to do anything he can to help Shinah not freak out too badly.
