Pencil sketch commission for Shinerai of Lhyz and Ryoseth being all snuggly and cute <3
So my hard drive failed on Saturday which resulted in my weekend being spent fresh installing Windows and trying to get all of my programs loaded up onto a new drive. Unfortunately, the data on the old drive is unrecoverable (though, not for the lack of trying), so the file for the WIP in my recent posts is gone and I will soon be painting over the JPEG I last posted (fun).
While waiting for Windows to install and everything to be all happy, I decided to test the durability of this nice stationery I bought while at Target the other day. It's some simple colored pieces of cardstock that come with little colored envelopes; the paper was surprisingly resilient while being colored and painted on. It acts really weird with Copic markers at first, causing the first layer to experience streaking (which Copics are known for avoiding) but other than that, it accepts the markers and acrylic paint without turning dark, getting soft, or going wavy.
Thus, have a drawing of my boyfriend's character name Ryoseth. I don't know what the heck I was thinking when I drew this dragon's neck (I was pretty upset all night so. . .) but I consider this to be my most successful drawing using Copic markers because I have not been particularly good at shading with them in the past.
