The Almost Break Up
Prompt #41 of the SFW list for the @bakubangspeedrun "I'd like to apologize-" "No you don't. You want me to pretend none of it ever happened."
The room was tense as you both sat on Ryou’s couch in silence, Ryou’s face twisted in pure terror while yours was twisted in pure fury.
“I’d like to apologize-”
“No you don’t. You want me to pretend none of it ever happened, and I can’t do that to you Ryou.” You grabbed his hand looking at him enraged, “Not after everything that has happened to you, you deserve better and you deserve love”
Ryou turned his head away from you glancing at the ring sitting on the side table, his shame and self hatred curling in his chest, right above the stab wounds from the ring, the marks that labeled him as a traitor, that confirmed that he was cursed just like he thought since he was a child with his sister.
“Breaking up would be the best choice for you, I’m a cursed being an- and-,” He ripped his hand out of yours and stood up, “I’ll hurt you just like everyone else!”
You burst out laughing, making Ryou glare at you in confusion “Ryou,” You stood up as well, “My brother is Seto Kaiba,” You took a few steps to reach him, “We're friends with the friendship gang with Yugi who has the millennium puzzle and never gives up on his friends!” You placed your hands on his shoulders, ‘We’ll always be fine Ryou, and I’ll always be right beside you,” You pulled him into a tight hug “No matter what my love.”
Ryou hugged you back just as tight, crying deeply into your shoulder. “I’m so sorry, I just wanted to protect you.”
You patted his back, “I know, I know”
“And I love you so much!” You pulled back against his grip to look Ryou in the eyes, which was a bit of a fight. “And I love you cream puff.”
Fully breaking away from the hug you shoved Ryou to his bedroom, “Now go freshen up we’re going on a date to celebrate us staying together!”
Watching him leave to his room to change into appropriate clothing your smile dropped glaring at the ring, stalking over to the gold item you picked it up. “Now you, you shiny piece of trash, unless you want me to find a way to make sure that you suffer in actual hell you’re going to give Ryou a break.” You held it by it’s rope before sighing, “I don’t know what I’m doing you probably can’t even hear me, but you know what!” You shoved the ring into your bag, “You’re coming with me and not staying anywhere near him anytime soon if I can help it.”
Turning around just as Ryou came out in an adorable outfit you smiled dragging him over to the door. “Oh my gosh, you look so cute! We definitely have to go on a date now!”
Ryou smiled as you dragged him out the door, life was okay, at least for now.
