CURRENTLY WATCHING: I almost never get around to watching movies/tv shows unless someone bugs me to watch with them, but I'm trying slowly to get caught up on Critical Role C3 right now.

THREE SHIPS: Baldur's Gate on the brain right now, so... currently DEEP in the Tav/Karlach brainrot (Hector/Karlach specifically). Bhaalspawn/Aerie (Caden/Aerie specifically). And carrying the banner for Jaheira/Rasaad all by myself if necessary. XD

FAVORITE COLOR: PURPLE \o/

CURRENTLY CONSUMING: Nothing at the moment but I had a Jimmy Johns sandwich earlier.

FIRST SHIP: Hm. This is hard to say. I guess Shep/Kaidan probably would be my first ship from when I was actually engaged in "fandom", as ME was basically my first fandom experience; before that it was just me hyperfixating by myself in my head. XD I did have some favorite Star Trek relationships from back in the day. B'Elanna/Tom from Voyager comes to mind.

i know the fandom has moved to "aveline is a cop so fuck her" but anders is absoultely attempting to emotionally manipulate her here? by act 3 he's so far gone for the cause he does some really fucked up shit. like there is such a huge difference btw 'donnic doesn't tell his wife he's playing cards with fenris bc she'd want to come and she's a sore loser' and [cont]

Also you must be knew here if you think my strong dislike of Aveline is only recent lol??? I’ve complained about her bullshit for as long as I’ve had this blog.

That and the horror of Hormak (or at least a similar horror, or whatever spawned it) are definitely on my short list of having appearances in DA4, for certain. Wouldn’t be surprised if Saarbrak does too.

Still gonna getting through the rest of the book, though. This just was an initial “brain goes ARGH” I needed to vent as I hit Callback.

you could always ask if a gamestop or wherever will let you do the data transfer when you do the trade in so you don’t have to put so much money up front at once.

I actually went and asked a guy today so I could get an idea of how much money I’d get back/make sure that was something I *could* do. He kept saying if I’ve got Nintendo Online my save data is backed up. Which is true.....for some games. I was trying to say not all games are Cloud Compatible but he didn’t seem to listen?

So yeah I guess my options are 1) If the guy is super cool and I can whip out my old one and do the transfer before giving him the old one and taking the new one or...

2) I just buy the new one, make the transfer at home, then go back and trade in the old one.

This would just be so much easier if Pokemon were Cloud supported this is so DUMB.

i wonder if that's a japan vs us writing style thing though. i have read/watched so many manga and anime that have really interesting and unique concepts but they spend the ENTIRE first chapter/episode setting up exposition.

That’s possible, and manga is definitely guilty of the same issue, but I think on a larger scale it might also just be writers’ tendency to not write content effectively for an spoken scene. George Lucas is a good example of this; Harrison Ford was quoted as telling Lucas “you can write this shit, but you can’t say it.”  I’ve actually seen this happen fairly often with book-to-film adaptations as well.   

When you’re reading a generous chunk of exposition, it’s not generally as much of a problem because I think the way you absorb the information via reading is a little more compatible to those big chunks.  But like Ford puts it, when that same content is spoken, there are more components that factor into it that I think alter the effectiveness and interpretation of that exposition. Your mind can absorb a dense chunk of information fairly quickly (i.e. reading a large paragraph in a few seconds as opposed to it taking a minute or more to read aloud), but the transition to spoken form slows things down and complicates it.

it's def not a mod, same thing happened to me on console. used the mirror and it reset my durge's name.

Ohhhhhh. Y'all are brilliant. :D That's definitely it; I used it when I camped with Shadowheart the first night bc I realized I hadn't set her voice during original CC.
