ryubence replied to your post: The anti-hackers in the Poke community are so...
It’s weird how up in arms people get about hacking Pokemon shinies/IVs/EVs. Like, all hacking does is remove the time/leg work required to breed specific Pokemon; a hacked 6IV shiny and a legit 6IV shiny are otherwise the exact same… It’s not like they’re hacking in moves a Pokemon shouldn’t be able to learn or giving it fake stats (like 999HP).
I think one of the biggest issues with competitive Pokemon is that legwork. It takes so long to craft a team just to test it, and you’re not even guaranteed to get something that works. Certain elements have been eased tremendously, like the ability to cap IVs and train EVs without needing to kill 200+ Machop. Hacking things to be completed but still inside competitive does nothing to hurt anyone. But the mentality against it does, because now no one wants to own up to it because it’s seen as bad, and people who do things legit are going to be accused of cheating every time, which takes away from acknowledgement they can get. When you focus too heavily on punishing things you don’t like, you take away positive recognition from those who’ve earned it, because you’re too ready to assume now that anyone who beats you must’ve hacked in their stuff, even if it’s competitively fine.
If your hacking is a time-saver that doesn’t give a competitive advantage, it’s fine, and the community really needs to stop caring.
Ryubence (for the hc thing)?
A - Realistic: The notes in her magic beast encyclopedias about how dangerous certain monsters are come from firsthand experience. Sometimes she deliberately puts herself in danger; sometimes it’s an accident.
B - Maybe not realistic, but hilarious: She sometimes gets snippy or sassy with Purple Peel, even though she knows Purple Peel will probably kill her for it. Either she’ll just get brought back to life as usual, or Purple Peel will finally decide she’s sick of dealing with Ryubence and let her stay dead.
C - Awful, but fun to inflict on friends: She’s been alive for tens of thousands of years, and has seen countless people die. Most of the time she’s indifferent, but in the event that she ever did become close with anyone, she knows she’s going to outlive them in the end. Losing friends still stings a bit, no matter how many times it happens.
D - Unrealistic, but I disregard canon: Not terribly unrealistic, but… Lavi thinks Ryubence’s nihilistic personality and deadpan comments are hilarious, and likes hanging out with her (and pestering her with all kinds of questions). Ryubence finds her a little annoying sometimes, but she appreciates the company and how genuinely enthusiastic Lavi is.
“You will bow to our clan’s every command! You will obey! You will grovel! And only then are you given permission to continue living!”
Dark Witch Ryubence! the purple peel clan’s workhorse, tee-hee Her left arm didn’t weather the transformation well, and the rest of her body is crumbling, but she’s as much a threat as any other Dark Witch. She favors curses and status afflictions (hi poison) over offensive spells, and she can summon witch soldiers with a scrape of a hoof... but she’s not as aggressive as some, and generally won’t attack unprovoked.
6, 24, 36!
6.) Favorite/hated monster specieshated is Khezu, hands down!favourite is najarala…which is kinda obvious looking at my guild card lols A different type of najarala
24.) Favorite armor setOh man! guh, this is hard. For looks, i’d say seregios, or silver rathalos (haven’t seen the G rank silver rath yet though) also the G-ranks najarala armorsskills… i also like seregios because fencing and negate bleeding, and high rank najarala because it had earplugs and could easily gem into negate paralysis. I haven’t made a lot of different armors, but you know. those ones are great.
36.) Favorite NPC in Monster Hunteroh boy! I really love the guildmarm, but i also love the cowardly palico (if that counts?) The vegie elder is also a blessing though. all that free stuff haha!
