U know what absolutely warms my heart abt that gif of callum pinching austin’s cheek and calling him cute is that austin’s smile afterwards is 100% his genuine reaction and not him acting. Like idk how to explain it but that is one of those moments where i felt like we are witnessing callum and austin instead of john and gale lol

Yes, you’re so right! 🥰 You can literally see the moment Austin breaks out of playing Gale (I wouldn’t say he breaks character because this is a perfectly acceptable Gale reaction).

There’s a split second of recognition that you can see on his face, like there's something only he and Callum know (which is that he’s looking at Callum and not Bucky in that split second), and you can see his jaw clench to hold back his laugh, and his eyebrows lower from the somewhat cocky expression he had to reveal genuine fondness and amusement. I think he almost laughed out loud just because of Callum beaming at him like that and being playful. I'm glad they chose to put this in the show.
