The Royal Horticultural Society has given the much admired Galanthus 'S. Arnott' (snowdrop) an Award of Garden Merit as it is a reliable performing cultivar. The fragrant white flowers have a green arch at the tip of the inner segments. This snowdrop was the ‘flagship cultivar’ of the Giant Snowdrop Company in the 1950s, the Company eventually stopped trading in 1968. There has been a small exhibition about the Company recently at Stroud Museum, Gloucestershire, UK.
