The latest on the worrisome and troublesome Jester case
Feeling behind on the news? Like the cases have flown by faster than the weeks can? Stay puzzled no longer, my Dearest and Kindest readers, I have all that you may need to check up on this ongoing phantom thief!
----------------------------------------------
The first two thefts - being covered in a previous paper I recommend a read before you proceed here - were but only the beginning of this twisted game of Cops Vs Robbers. Recently, it has made those previous cases seems like mere child play with the next few being mercilessly to jeopardize cost and value, and even gruesomely risk terminal injuries to victims.
After the museum fiasco, @james-cromwell's jewelry store was the next target of The Jester's larceny game; @abraham-stoker included, as it was his jewelry order for the costumes of his upcoming play production for the town's newest theater - also being his project. Not only was half the order gone without a trace, but a lapis lazuli, and a wire planted as a dirty trap for the unsuspecting jewelsmith who ran straight into it. Falling, not only straight into the floor, but also a temporary coma. What a dirty criminal, sparing not even the disabled! It was said @mostlyyourlysander's purple opal brooch was then found at the crime scene. He was not long a suspect, as the Detective quickly affirmed that there is, indeed, an imposter among us. The Jester had impersonated well-known British poet, Renée Vivien, and must have snatched @mostlyyourlysander's brooch while offering her services to Columbia college. Only to never show, as her disguise was no longer needed then.
After this, it seems that the museum came to a sort of plot with @the--investigation--team, where the museum would release a shiny, new, eye catching exhibit! Displaying weaponry and swords, @previously-bookie was so certain that it would work as a successful trap for the Jester with high-tech security planted by the town's newest programmer, @adastra-astrid, this time to ensure the rightful capture of the criminal mastermind. Yet... instead what was gained, was what I can only describe as a Sherlock Holmes episode; where witnesses have claimed to have saw the detective, himself, @sincerely-edevane conversating with the one and only Jester, @deceitfullyyours upon the very roof of the museum! As if they were merely two Joes catching up over some tea, Detective Edevane did not even make a single move to remove the mask of the Jester, even when standing right in front of them. Instead, the Jester must have known the museum exhibit was but a trap, and chose a sexually intense discussion with who they described their "Favorite Detective". Sounds like a big fan, I must say.
We ought to suspect the mental stability of townsfolk while we also suspect who is truly the masked mastermind, as it seems this case is being run by no one but sociopaths who have a sickening joy for this game instead of the town's well-being and belongings. Are we truly doing right by leaving this case in the hands of a man of questionable morals? But while we are upon the subject of suspects... allow me to make a few recommendations of who are to be aware of;
@previously-bookie, have we all forgotten his apparent criminal background? Let us not put it behind him to rob from his own business.
Or @carnally-vittorio? Seemingly in alliance with @previously-bookie on multiple matters, who is to say the Jester is but one person and not them both? As the two do have rumors surrounding them and their encounters with the law.
@cicero-defacto it should also be noted that the well-known historian seems to be sticky with the hands, and has the record of resenting law and the rich (a noticable pattern in these robberies). Even snatching @james-alexander-hamilton's keys during a manipulative one night stand with his secretary to sneak into the Hamiltons' law firm and retrieve personal letters against deliberate orders they were private.
What of all Mister Secrets, @abraham-stoker? Perhaps @kitty-livingston's missing diamond and his own missing order can be found behind that infamous red door... It would explain as to how the theater has so quickly recovered such a loss of supplies. Is it truly a matter of the importance of his privacy, or rather his secrecy?
Would it be farfetched to suggest that someone with such technological knowledge would certainly know how to bypass security on their own, @adastra-astrid? Waltzing straight into buildings to offer unauthorized and unprofessional security advancements could very well serve to better understand these systems and back into them for her little thefts. Who is even to say that is truly the programmer @sincerely-edevane claims to know? This Jester is not only a skilled puppeteer, but a mimic, and hardly can you tell who might be an impersonator or not.
Maybe even someone amongst @the--investigation--team, as you must wonder how it is they have not be able to provide much at all to this case. After all, the enemy is not always outside... but rather within. Which can all be said about the most untrustworthy person we have handling the case, @sincerely-edevane, himself.
You really must ask yourself... who can we trust?
Upon the next bundle of rumors, shall I appear once more. Gossiping is amongst us, and I find it my duty to reveal it upon us.
