Val overuses the words "I love you" during sex. this is because, for most of his life and afterlife, these words didn't mean anything to him. they were just pretty words to purr in someone's ear. like a kiss on the mouth when someone's bought you out for the night, there's nothings sacred about it. "love" was a commodity; currency to be bought and sold in. not some tender sentiment meant for him.
it didn't start meaning anything until his "business" partnership with Vox. even then, even after decades together, he won't tell Vox he loves him seriously unless it's in Spanish which Vox doesn't understand.
