“Savaşabileceğini ya da savaşamayacağını bilen kazanır.”
DANY’s LOVELIFE
I always sensed that something was wrong with all of Dany’s romantic relationships – there were always conditions. She never had a relationship that just happened organically. She never learned to love unconditionally. That is the biggest difference between Dany and Cersei. I believe Cersei knows how to love. She loves her children unconditionally- yes even Joffrey. Jaime even said that Cersei's most admirable feature – is that she loves her children and uses her power to protect them.
So far, Drogo came the closest to Dany giving herself freely for love. The red flag was the first words that came out of mouth after meeting Drogo is – “I don’t want to be his queen.” However, she grew to care for Drogo - with conditions. On screen, Dany never told Drogo she loved him. Drogo was content having an ordinary life with Dany, yet while she was pregnant she was still pushing him to take action to get her the Iron Throne and still trying to hatch the dragon eggs. In my opinion, the saddest thing she did to Drogo occurred when she was in the House of the Undying - Dany made the choice to walk away from Drogo to get/save her dragons, to get power – this action said a lot about Dany’s character. I actually felt sorry for Drogo.
Personally, I felt Daario Naharis understood Dany better than Drogo. I liked Daario for Dany – he saw her for what she is – a conqueror. Ironically, Daario looked like Drogo .I believe Daario truly loved Dany. One of the biggest mistakes Dany made was not bringing Daario Naharis to Westeros with her. Daario would have given her better counsel than Tyrion; in addition, Daario would have seen all the betrayals that are coming in s.8.
In S5. Ep. 10 Jaime said – “You don’t choose whom you love. Its beyond our control.” Dany will learn this lesson in S. 8. In s7. Ep 6 the way Dany looked at Jon Snow while he laid unconscious on the ship, told me that Dany is in love with Jon Snow. This will be a weakness for her. I believe Dany will be willing to give up her dragons and the throne for Jon - and have an ordinary life with him! However, the world is potentially coming to an end. Jon has to be true to himself and his heart. Unknowingly to Dany, Jon will reject Dany’s love because he loves someone else (Jonsa). There was never a love triangle with Jon, Dany and Sansa. The love triangle is with Cersei, Jaime and Brienne.
Littlefinger and Lysa Arryn knows the pain of loving someone who does not love them back. Sadly Littlefinger used Lysa until he got what he wanted. Robb Stark felt the fury of Walder Frey - all because he loved another. Dany will feel the pain of rejection. Again, the world is potentially coming to an end, and Dany does not get it. Jon had to enter into a relationship with Dany for her help. Forgive Jon. We see again conditions are placed in Dany’s romantic relationships. Not a good way to start a relationship.
Another point, Dany falling in love with Jon Snow takes something away from the relationship she had with Drogo. It was out of character for Dany to fall for Jon so quickly. I am trying to figure out why Dany fell for Jon so quickly. Jon does not look like Drogo. The only answer I can find is that Jon is honorable and brave. Characteristics Dany deep down always wanted in a man. Based on GOT, it seems to be difficult to find honorable men in Westeros.
In summary, Dany’s tragedy will be the way she handles rejection. With Fire and Blood?
I’m all in for girls being supportive towards each other but Sansa giving Dany the cold shoulder is understandable and she should not be blamed or criticized for not trusting her. Sansa spent most of the series being tormented by Queen Cersei, someone she had adored and trusted. As far as Sansa knows, Dany is just another queen and she’s a foreigner who just waltzes in and wants to take the Seven Kingdoms for herself, one of them being the North. Not only that but Jon is vouching for her and Sansa seems to think she knows better than Jon, and let’s face it she does. If it wasn’t for her quick thinking, Jon would have died during the Battle of the Bastards.
And based on the fact that Arya is supportive of Sansa, something that surprises Jon, Sansa is really only looking after her family. When she was introduced, she wanted to leave Winterfell and dreamed of getting married to Joffrey and being queen. Now she knows better and she’s not going to watch what’s left of her family be torn apart.
"Sen bir budalasın! Bu dünyada aramakla bulunamayacak birini arıyorsun!"
— Genç Werther'in Acıları, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
It really says something about Dany when she was shocked to see that Theon returned to Winterfell not to fight for her, but for Sansa. There are other ways to gain people’s loyalty and it ain’t by burning them but since that’s all she knows she’ll never learn. Even when she was talking with Sansa she was basically telling her, “Hey, you’re cool but if you don’t pledge to me then you’re my enemy.” Can you really blame Sansa for not trusting her? I sure as hell wouldn’t.
