Thoughtless by S.C Stephens
This is a review from back in 2012. It’s still relevant so I thought I’d share it.
The International Bestseller.
Again, without any spoilage, let me sum this book up with my version of the blurb...
The story begins with the blossoming love and devotion both Kiera and Denny share for one another. After her love for this beautiful Australian man leads her to dropping everything back home, they move to Seattle where a promising future awaits. But a future isn't the only thing awaiting they're arrival... a hunky whoring rockstar is their soon to be roommate, Kellan, who doesnt hesitate when his oldest friend needs a place to stay.
With work commitments keeping Denny at a distance and placing a hold on their relationship, Denny leaves Kiera turning to Kellan for comfort. Just when comfort begins to overstay its welcome, Kiera is shun with news that leads her into making a heart-startling decision that threatens to change the path of her future. And it all comes down to two simple questions; who will she choose? A steady stream or a passionate fire; and how will she fight to prove her love? IF she choses to fight at all...
Before reading this book, quite a few reviews suggested that Kellan Kyle would become the new Christian Grey. After reading, I didn't get that vibe at all. They are two completely different characters and the only similarity would be that both had insanely good looks and a haunting past. It could possibly be that I read the Fifty Trilogy together one after another. Nonetheless, I still loved Kellan just as much.
The three star characters of the novel - Kiera, Denny and Kellan, were introduced with captivatingly beautiful features, fair enough, I didnt expect anything less. Though, what I found odd about this novel was that almost every character, from the most important to the very least, were beautiful, pretty or handsome. Realistic? Not so much. Whilst reading, I realised that there were quite a few unexpected scenes. I would read a chapter and the growing anticipation would lead me into expecting the unexpected and yet I was taken off guard with something even more unexpected or nothing at all, which I guess is quite refreshing. Stephens also has this gift for 'dragging'. An exquisitely good quality to possess when writing a novel with such tension. I just couldn't stop reading and found myself silently cheering and routing for Kiera to make a decision lol.
Anyways, READ THIS BOOK! You won't regret a thing. :)
