LTMP 2nd Draft
https://youtu.be/NhsWHcK2gKY
So far I think I’m on the right track. What we have in the video are things I really want to incorporate into the film + things I haven’t filmed yet. However, I’d say I’m on the right course. In this draft I have an image and 2 sound aspects -- will definitely meet and go past requirements thought. I’d say I’m at a solid B as things stand though.
This video is about My Movie 1
I am sorry this is kinda late...took a billion years to try to upload to vimeo then that failed....then took another billion years to upload to youtube :/
ROUGH DRAFT
BOLD INDICATES NARRATIVE
It’s 8am in Princeton and an image of an alarm clock is going off. My hand is filmed turning off the alarm. I want it to be so that it’s natural which is why I’m probably going to make Emily wake up earlier to remember to film me getting up 5 mins earlier. Also throw in some mellow morning beats to this because I feel like that’s how everyone wakes up. The first shot is going to be a shot of my phone going off with the alarm. We’re going to have a montage of my daily activity here. Shower. Breakfast. Leave house. Go to NB. Camera shot is all following a behind me perspective. I want to have the same mellow music but sped up a little bit more. When I’m in the train there should be the call of the announcer in the back. I’m also interested in making the choice of showing repetition again and THEN begin the narration here. I swear, waking up is always the hardest thing every morning. Take a long pause here to mark a transition. When I was younger I ALWAYS got in trouble.. actually, come to think of it I still do. (TOASTER GOING OFF, SHOT OF ME PLATING BREAKFAST). I was always told the world would be my oyster, and that inspiration can be drawn from anywhere at any given time. My mom always told me that things take time and you’ve got to follow this rhythm in life and repeat whatever it is you have to do to get by. But that isn’t me. I can’t stay with one thing forever unless it challenges me. Same shot of me arriving in NB by train again, announcer comes on. New Brunswick Station will be next. Play some cool music here because I think I’m cool. Ok, I’m gonna cut the emotional crap now. It makes me feel weird because I hate dealing with feelings, mainly because I really don’t know how. So let’s get into why we all came to class today: to see my world. I’m trying to create a serious tone here. My world is a culmination of a lot of things. From things that really piss me off (CUT TO SHOT OF CLASS) to things that make me happy (ME IN KITCHEN) … and at the same time very unhappy. My world is disastrous, calamitous, and amazing all at the same time. Do a transition to Mediterra kitchen. Shots of me in the kitchen. Narration is how hectic everything is. Narration slowly comes on…It’s crazy isn’t it. Speed, timing, and just about everything else. You just wanna sit there and take in everything all the while knowing you’ve gotta move your ass. Sometimes even I question my own mental sanity for wanting to work in an environment like this. Slow motion shot of the flame from stove. Maybe even throw in the sous chefs in action, slow motion because that’s hot as shit. I would never trade this life for the world. That introduces one aspect of my world. I want to create another transition that shows off another aspect of my life. Moving along New Brunswick and Rutgers as a whole, you notice everything. For me, I take note of just how many of the Chinese International students are here and just how ghetto some parts of NB can be. Oh, also just how lost and in a hurry people can be here..it feels almost impossible to meet people. Between classes it just seems like everyone is in a hurry... sometimes if we just took a moment to appreciate our surroundings you'll never know what you find. SHOT OF EMILY. TRANSITION TO HIDDEN GROUNDS FOR COFFEE DATE. Insert shots of espresso machine/barista in action. Also somehow incorporate something about other friends.
I want to do a final montage at the end that accurately incorporates everything about my world, it’s a work in progress so I’ll think more.
**I forgot to flip my camera sideways while recording. I’ll be sure to fix that for the final project**
