My thoughts on the Will & Mike ep 4 script!
these are pretty obvious but i wanted to share anyway
mike doesn’t sit in the bed like how he does in the show.???
No “you didn’t have to” line from mike?
“Will finally looks at Mike” so i rewatched the scene and Will was looking at mike the whole time so idk why they specifically had to say “finally” almost implying Will didn’t wanna look at him/ make eye contact (which was stated that Will felt uncomfortable when mike brought up the subject)
INTIMATE MOMENT??!?!??!?? i think this was put in there to show how special that scene and moment was and how it’s different from all the other interactions the party has with each other. (I mean can you imagine if that phrase was used to describe Lucas and Mike???? Exactly 😭)
Ok so i’ve been thinking about this part and i know this is kinda a reach but….
Mike starts talking about El and how he’s thinks he’s been so worried about her BUT then there’s a (beat) and he starts thinking about his feelings for Will and how he thinks he lost him. The fact that he switches from talking about El to Will almost immediately makes it seem like Mike can’t express his “love” to El BECAUSE of Will; almost like he’s the reason he can’t 😉😉
Also, by adding the (beat) they make it very clear on how Mikes line is important to the story line (which it obviously is). If the writers didn’t want the “i don’t know. I feel like i lost you or something” line to seem as important they would’ve had mike say something more along the lines of, “I don’t maybe i’ve been worrying to much about El and haven’t realized how bad of a friend i’ve been.” Or something that would create a better storyline for midleven or whatever. Adding the (beat) creates so much more tension which creates a more romantic-coded convo (ik this is not for every scenario but it has been added to many other canon ship scripts as well).
(trust me i know this is a reach but oh well)
idk it kinda seems like mikes pretty hesitant here 🤔🤔🤔
—Anyway that’s pretty much it :) Again i know these have been said before and are stretches but these were just my initial thoughts while reading the script for the first time!—
