Updating CC for hot and cold weather categories

With newly released patch we received 2 new tags: hot weather, cold weather. Here is a quick explanation how to update your cc items manually until batch fix released. It’s very easy. Get new version of Studio (Wishes 3.1.1.6 and up) on official Studio forum. Registration required. If you have any troubles running it, check troubleshooting page (available in English, Spanish and Russian).

Disclaimer: as I checked in the game these 2 new tags are for sorting purposes only. Meaning that if your CC doesn’t have these tags, it will not appear in hot/cold weather categories when hot/cold filter is on. Once you take that filter down you’ll see all your CC. If sim wears ANYTHING that you put on him in cold category, he won’t freeze to death, even if this item doesn’t have “cold weather” tag. Tagging your CC will just tell the game what CC should appear under what category when filter is on. Sims 4 Studio released new version 3.1.1.8 with Basic batch fix that automatically adds tags to hairs, socks, makeup and some other categories. Check its description here.

Click on My CC button to open your custom content.

This will open all of your custom content that is currently in Mods folder. Click on the left column to check what item is it. When you see an item that is appropriate for hot weather scroll down until you see category tags. For hot weather clothes tick “hot weather” tag, for cold weather clothes tick “cold weather” tag. Click “Apply to all swatches”. Press green SAVE button, it’s important. That’s it. Move to the next file

Posing with umbrellas

Just a quick tip if you haven’t figured this out yet.

You can use umbrellas from The Seasons with custom poses and Andrew’s pose player.

Click on sim and choose “open umbrella”.

Then click on sim and choose “pose by pack” and choose any custom pose you have in the game.

Sim will continue holding an umbrella with its dominant hand. So if your sims are lefty, they will hold an umbrella with left hand, if they are right-handed, they will hold it with right hand. As an example here is the same pose from @helgatisha pose pack #23, pose #1. I used my custom umbrellas that can be downloaded here.

Sims that react to clothing as if it is nude - Solve

Are your sims reacting to your sim or other sims as if they were nude, but they aren't? This is what you can do to fix this problem: 1. Open the custom content item in Sims 4 Studio. 2. Click the Warehouse Tab. 3. On the left side click CAS Part (You will have to do this for as many Cas Parts as there are). 4. On the right side scroll down until you see Tags & across click the button that sais Edit Items... 5. A window will open and on the left-hand side select “NudePart: NudePart_Always” and then select Remove. 6. Now before you exit this window click SAVE if you don’t then you did all this for nothing. 7. Now save your package and put this package back into your mods folder. 8. At last your sim is not penalised for being naked when they aren't :) The reason this happens is creators use the nude top or bottom as a base and don’t delete that little bit I mentioned above. ( I did this too before I learned of this trick). So now all you creators can do this little step so your clothing doesn’t act as a nude item in game. :) @dreamteamsims there you go :)

UV templates for all ages, HQ and regular sizes.

I made UV templates for all life stages (teen, young adult, adult and elder use the same UV) by overlaying uv map of sims body over body textures. This way it will be easier to stay within uv map and at the same time seeing what part of the body it is. You can download them one by one or in archive. You can choose HQ size (2046x4096) or regular (1024x2048). Here is the preview of female uv texture (don’t use it for texturing, it’s too small).
