Love, love, love that scene of a tipsy Stowell spewing his hatred of Lord Sinderby to Thomas, who looks like a particularly self-satisfied cat at that moment. I could watch HOURS of that.

Speaking of facial expressions, I love Thomas' "I can't believe this dude" expression when Stowell is rude to Baxter. And the look that passes between him and Mary when Sinderby says "You! Milk."
Wait a second. Didn't Mrs Hughes have a lot more dresses back in Season 1 than she has the last few seasons? Do you think it's possible that her mother passed away between Season 1 and 2, and it was after that she had to spend all her money caring for her sister?
So I haven't seen the CS yet, but one thing disturbs me: This was shot back in August, if I'm remembering correctly, before it was confirmed that there would be a sixth season of Downton. So Fellowes must have written the CS in such a way that a number of storylines could plausibly be said to be concluded, just in case the powers that be decided not to renew the series - Chelsie, Robert accepting Edith's child, Branson leaving for America, Anna and Bates together again.
What disturbs me is that if we go by this, Thomas' canon storyline concludes with him, seemingly, happily accepting his lot as a servant, and alone. We know that there will be a season 6, and therefore it's possible for his storyline to conclude in some other way. Even so, wondering if Fellowes thought that having him be a bit nicer and engage in some plotting to help the family was a satisfactory way to wrap up this incredible character's story makes me fear for Thomas' future in the series. Not that I'm complaining about his CS story - it sounds like fun, and would have been even more fun had he gotten a card from Jimmy - but dammit, when the show finally ends, I don't want it to end with Thomas fading into the background.
Love Baxter in the background of that new clip of Thomas and Stowell - you just just know she's thinking "Ooooooh, you've done it now, Mr. Stowell" :D
