I think Ovenden is doing promotion for the Christmas ALBUM, not the Christmas special. Elizabeth McGovern has already started giving interviews about it and he is way more involved in it than her, so I expect him to do the same. Besides, seeing how cryptic he usually is, I doubt he'd spoil Charles being in the CS with a tweet. ;) I do think he'll be back for S6, but after the confirmation that Mary will have a romance with M. Goode's character in the CS, I don't see them bringing Charles in too.

True, but in his (usual?) cryptic way, he didn't specify the album either.  And pre-sales already have the album in the top-10, so if more publicity really required?  ;)  

And with the way publicity interviews go, if her is there promoting the album, of COURSE they'll be asking about the CS, and S6.  And, well, now, My Night With Reg.  I suspect he will tease mercilessly regarding all of it; he has a crafty ease about leaving you wondering with interviews.

Keeping my fingers crossed all around that the ever-evolving story allows all cheeky actors plenty of screen time come next season!
