I think it was Ep 8 when Sa-rang's colleagues get angry with her and make her clean the whole ballroom herself and Gu Won tries to help but she has this super specific way of doing the tablecloths which he at first is baffled by, and then she says something along the lines of, "If I don't do it special, it's just a chore anyone could do."
THIS IS REAL.
There is real, actual science that shows the happiest and most effective employees make their jobs, menial as they might be, special. They did a study with hospital orderlies and the ones with the highest job satisfaction made themselves special little tasks and took time out of their day to do little things for patients. It made them feel like a part of something bigger instead of just a cog in a machine.
What Sa-rang is doing, silly as it may seem, is what a real, dedicated and happy employee would do.
Gu Won “forcing” Sa Rang to walk around the block with him as they hold hands. The little throw Gu Won does when he picks up Sa Rang like she weighs nothing. BOTH of them grabbing at their chests from their hearts racing afterwards. Their wholesome, flirtatious banter (which feels out of the character in the best way—like friendship goals!) Sa Rang being very comfortable with Gu Won and uncomfortable with Samir by comparison. Gu Won in a butler outfit. Gu Won losing all humor and obligation when Samir proposed, like hell no. Samir and Gu Won waving money at each other as he drives away. The entirety of the spa scene🤌🏼 Gu Won orchestrating one of the cutest dates I’ve ever seen. The smile on his face as he receives praise for his cooking. Sa Rang’s willingness to make him happy. “Do I have permission?” (Omfg!!) THE KISS. The brief moment where Gu Won pulls aways and shivers.
