Nightmares ‘n Comfort
summary: little!reader has a nightmare in the middle of the night. Cg!Dean Winchester comforts them :)
The motel bed was springy and uncomfortable; however, after watching a few reruns of Scooby-Doo on the motel TV and cuddles from Dean, you somehow were able to sleep in the room that looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned since the 70’s.
Dean didn’t always bring you on hunts, only the ones that were going to take him longer than a few days. He didn’t want you to be by yourself for very long.
You twitched in your sleep; your sabotaging mind was captivated in a not-so... comforting dream. The dream was fuzzy and quick, but it was enough to scare you awake.
Your eyes snapped open, your heart beating from the fear caused by your nightmare. Then a wave of relief washed over you when you realized Dean was sleeping next to you. You weren’t alone.
You tried to settle down and go back to sleep, but the motel was too dark and too quiet. Too scary. It didn’t take long before Dean felt someone poking his shoulder. “Hm?” He grumbled sleepily. His eyebrows furrowing in confusion.
“Daddy, I’m scared. I had a bad dream, and... this place is scary.” Your voice trembled into a whimper. Dean sighed quietly, rubbing the drowsiness off his eyes. “Alright, c’mon, kid.” He gruffed as he tucked you into his side. His calloused palm lazily rubbing circles onto the small of your back.
“I’m not going to let anything hurt you.” He reassured in a tired tone, yet it was still so trusting, like always.
“Still, I don’t like it here.” You mumbled quietly as you laid your head against his chest. Slowly melting against his touch.
“I know, baby. We’ll be outta here before you know it.” He hummed tiredly, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. “Time’ll pass if you go back to sleep.” You hid your head against his chest; his comforting scent filled your senses. He was so warm, it was starting to become difficult to keep your eyes open. All of it was slowly lulling you to sleep.
Dean pushed back your hair, pressing a final kiss to your forehead. “That’s better. Daddy’s got you, kid.”
