How are you feeling about season 2 of The Dragon Prince being announced for Feb. 15? I'm super excited and I'm already planning to download all the episodes to watch during a trip that weekend!
I am feeling like, if I were in your place, I would cancel my trip. Like, sorry guys, but something just came up, and I can no longer attend your trip. I know this is sudden, but I am suddenly very busy that weekend and there’s no way for me to get out of it. Please know that I will be with you in spirit.
(Note: I’m not actually recommending you do this.)
For real, though, I am SUPER PUMPED. I’ve been waiting for a release date ever since it was announced we were officially getting the second season, and I’m thrilled that we’re getting it so early in the year! I was expecting to have to wait until the second half of 2019 at least; that we’re getting it so soon made me overjoyed. (Now I just hope we get a trailer soon, too!)
That said, if you’re downloading the episodes, might I ask you to give them a re-watch on Netflix once you get back from your trip? We want Netflix to know that this is a popular show so that Wonderstorm keeps getting the greenlight for more seasons (they’re a tiny indie company of about nineteen employees, so they don’t exactly have the clout a big company like Dreamworks does to keep going even if they don’t get the viewers), and the way they know that is through viewership numbers. So I totally understand downloading the episodes if you won’t have internet during your trip, but when you get back, if you could give it a rewatch on Netflix, that would be awesome. We need to keep those ratings up! ♥
7 and 26?
7.) Three songs you didn’t expect to like but eventually loved
Answered!
26.) Three favourite non-English songs
“Canta per Me” --- Ange Noir (original: Kajiura Yuki)One of my favorite songs overall. I can sing it perfectly despite the fact that it’s in Italian, and I’ve probably listened to it several thousand times by now (it’s hard to tell with how many times I’ve switched laptops and such over the years). I just absolutely adore this one.
“again” -- YUIThis is another one of my favorite songs overall, though unfortunately I can’t sing this one because the fast parts always trip me up. Like, I can sing the slow parts just fine, but YUI murders me on the fast parts. Goddamn it, YUI. (Someday, though . . . someday I will master it. Someday . . .)
“Ichirin no Hana” --- HIGH and MIGHTY COLORHIGH and MIGHTY COLOR was my favorite band in high school, and this was my favorite song of theirs (though “REMEMBER” also came really close), so I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention it here, especially since I rediscovered it recently and still love it to pieces.
Honorable mention goes to:
“A Song of Storm and Fire” --- Kajiura Yuki
It’s not in any language anyone other than Kajiura-san can understand, but this song is so epic and sweeping that I just cherish it, and have ever since I first heard it in high school.
sablenight112 replied to your post: Voltron thoughts beneath the cut (for spoilers,...
tbh I totally feel where you’re coming from and I’m like completely heartbroken that they basically obliterated lotor’s character. like??? they did him so wrong??? and I actually put off watching the show until a little more than a week ago (school kept me pretty busy and I wanted to really pay attention to it) so as someone who’s only been in the fandom for like 7 days and absolutely fell in love with lotor I’m really distressed rn.
Lotor faced character assassination on a wide variety of levels, and Lauren and Joaquim have admitted (in an interview quote I saw after I made that post) that they did it for shock value and to troll the fanbase. Of all the reasons to make a decision while writing, that is one of the absolute worst, one of the lowest of the low. They threw Lotor’s entire character under the bus just so they could get a rise out of the fans, just so that they could pat themselves on the backs and call themselves clever.
Well, I hope they’re really proud of themselves, because I’m never going to trust any property they’re part of ever again. When this show inevitably ends, and they move on to a new project, I won’t touch it if their names are attached. Not after this. Not after they decided to waste a fascinating, relatable character for shock value. Not after they decided to do so in a way that says, “No matter how much a child abuse survivor may despise their abusive parents, no matter how much a child abuse survivor may actively reject and do everything in their power to be different from their abusive parents, they will still ultimately end up exactly like them.” That’s disgusting, disrespectful, and hurtful, and I’m not here for it. Lotor deserved better. We all deserved better.
I was wondering, what kind of animation software do you use? I want to get into 2D animation but I'm not sure what software to get. Also, do you know any good software for beginners, and that's not too expensive? Thanks! :)
Aw man I’m not sure if I can help you out, because I don’t even own an animation software. Whenever I make gifs at home I use gifmaker.me, which is really not an animation tool - i already know how to animate, so I can draw my frames in a drawing program without testing them, but if you’re a beginner you might need some more support.
At school we use Toon Boom’s Pencil Check for hand-drawn animation, and Harmony for cutout animation and digital colouring. But I know these are hella expensive. Maybe you should get Flash, which is really the most mainstream animation program there is out there, but it’s also pretty expensive (although you can get it illegaly, but I wouldn’t recommend.)
The only program left I know is Animation-ish. My parents got me this when I was 15 and getting into animation. It’s pretty limited, but it’s affordable and a good tool to start off with.
I hope I could help you! If you need any animating tips, feel free to ask!!
