Season for Giving | Headcanon | December 17, 2016
Daisy loved the annual CC West fundraising ball. She had always admired Micah and everyone else at CC West for everything that they did in the community. She couldn’t think of a more worthwhile and fun way to spend an evening with her friends in LA before she got caught up in preparing for her New York trip. She and Evander had spent the day finally decorating his apartment for Christmas and decked the whole place out in red and gold. The gigantic tree that they’d picked out reminded her yet again of all the things she loved about the holidays. A few hours before the event was supposed to begin, Daisy headed home to get ready.
Once she was dressed and made up, she made sure to get a photo of her outfit to post to Instagram. She loved the green gown that she was wearing, but the reason that she wanted to share it was primarily to post about the fundraiser. She included her Snapchat handle in the caption, saying that she would be live snapchatting throughout the night and suggested that her followers tag along and contribute what they could in support of an extremely worthy cause. There was still something that felt strange to Daisy about live snapchatting. She never wanted to come across as the person in a room who was only ever glued to her phone. But the truth was that it would be a great way to reach people who were far from LA and might have otherwise missed news of the event.
She had a great time at the masquerade ball, trying to guess who was who, eating a delicious meal, and watching the live performances. She was equally obsessed with all three acts and sang along to every song that she could. She only stepped on the train of her own dress like five times, which she considered a relative accomplishment considering none of those times resulted in her faceplanting on the floor. Throughout the whole night, she floated around from table to table, doing her best to chat and catch up with all her friends who were there. She wrote out a check to donate to CC West, but It was incredible and heartwarming to see how much fun everyone was having and how generous people could really be, regardless of whether or not their generosity came in the form of something monetary. The holiday season did seem to bring out the best in people.
Disney movies and wine. This is my Valentine's Day.
